The lens applies 2 aspherical lens elements to ensure high image quality--even at the widest aperture settings. Aspherical elements eliminate the problem of coma and other kinds of lens aberration, are useful in correcting the distortion in wide-angle lenses, and also contribute to a lighter, more compact lens design. The 10mm wide angle gives you a natural perspective for shooting beautiful landscapes at any time of the day or night. Nikon's Rear Focusing (RF) system divides the lens elements into specific groups, with only the rear group moving or focusing. This makes for smoother, faster autofocusing. The multilayer Super Integrated Coating helps reduce ghost and flare to a negligible level, and also assists in the creation of superior color balance and reproduction.
