Designed to provide the basic accessories for shock-mounting a shotgun microphone atop a camera or boompole, this B&H Kit features the Shure VP89M medium shotgun microphone, a shoe/pole shockmount, and a short XLR cable with one right-angled and one straight connector.

The kit addresses the needs of videographers who prefer a traditional shotgun microphone that delivers a narrow acceptance angle, clean and accurate audio quality, and low handling noise. With its XLR output and phantom powering, the VP89M mic is well suited for use with professional camcorders, portable audio recorders, and multitrack field recorders.

Shure VP89M Modular Medium Shotgun Microphone

Designed as a modular system that supports interchangeable capsules to accommodate a range of indoor and outdoor recording scenarios, the Shure VP89M medium shotgun microphone delivers a narrow 50° acceptance angle for moderate directionality with more off-axis pickup than the long VP89L.

Lightweight and rugged, the VP89M provides reliable operation and low susceptibility to hum, GSM, and radio-frequency interference. The phantom-powered preamp features a switchable low-cut filter to attenuate problematic bass frequencies such as rumble and a standard XLR 3-pin output for straightforward connectivity.

Outfitted with a Class-A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier, the VP89M delivers a clean and quick transient response with minimal harmonic/intermodulation distortion and no crossover distortion. Long and short capsule barrels are available separately to suit various recording needs, rejection angles, and frequency responses.

Features a narrow 50° acceptance angle and wide target aperture for greater degree of ambience—ideal for audience response, talk shows, live concerts, indie films, and documentaries

Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR M to Angled XLR F Microphone Cable - 1.5' (0.45 m), Black

The black Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR M to Angled XLR F Microphone Cable (1.5') is designed to be an extremely quiet and flexible cable that is ideal for the most demanding live sound and performance applications. The cable is engineered to be durable and to provide protection against EMI, RFI, and static noise.

Premium Performance 3000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. 95% dual-spiral shielding makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrik XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.

95% dual-spiral shielding offers protection from EMI and RFI noise.
Twin-conductive PVC inner shielding provides 100% coverage of the core conductor. It helps keep the cable's signal from radiating and affecting nearby cables, and also helps prevent external EMI from penetrating to the cable's core.
24 AWG oxygen-free stranded copper inner core provides the best possible conductivity.
Cotton yarn reduces electrostatic and microphonic noise.
All solder points shrink-wrapped for protection.
Neutrik XX silver connectors offer high conductivity.
Caged type contact and improved ground contact.
