    Magnus VT-3000 reviews

VT-3000 Tripod System with Fluid Head is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 83.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as the VT-4000 I have two of the VT-4000's and I have been very pleased with them. I needed a third tripod but only need to use it sparingly. I chose to get the $20 cheaper VT ? 3000, and the quality difference between the 3000 in the 4000 is very noticeable. If I could do it over again, I would just pay the extra money and buy the 4000. To be more specific the locks on the legs feel cheaper, The locks that lock pan and tilt are cheaper and harder to use, and the lock that balances the head feels cheaper and is harder to use. But granted, it is a cheap tripod and I shouldn't expect much, but I didn't have any of these issues with the 4000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tripod. Don't pay more money for a different produc I just took over a Digital Film Production program at the High School I teach at and found that many of my tripods where broken. When I looked into ordering replacements, (all of the tripods purchased by the former teacher were Manfrotto tripods) I just could not bring myself to spend the $399+ pricetag. I order two of these tripods that came with a collapsible dolly to see if they would work as well as the couple Manfrottos I have left. I can not tell the difference between the two. Pair that with the fact that I was able to get two additional dollys at no extra cost and I feel like I came out a winner. This was a great buy in my book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Stable Tripod I had to replace an old tripod. I saw this one and it reminded me of an old one my dad used to have. It was wood, not metal and was very sturdy and strong. I'm not doing video work, but decided to get it for my spotting scope and camera. I'm not disappointed. Its very sturdy, just as expected and surprisingly light enough to be carry-able. The carry case is a nice bonus for my purposes in the field. When I do learn to make videos, This will be great. You will have to get extra release plates from manufacturer until B&H puts them in their stock.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good inexpensive tripod I'm a professional cameraman that was asked by my son's high school football team to shoot the games for them so I was looking for a tripod, inexpensive but had some professionalism to it to use with my jvc gc px 100. This fit the bill perfectly. Its made sturdy. The locks are plastic but they are fine for light duty. The tripod raises up just above my eyes and I'm 5'10. My one complaint is the pan is looser than I prefer. But for a hundred and twenty bucks I couldn't ask for much more and I'm used to using a Schalter hot pod on a daily basis which is heavy. This tripod at only 6 pounds is much easier to climb up and down those high school press boxes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will NEVER pay $500 for a tripod again. We're used to using Manfrotto tripods in our studio. I can't say that they're *bad* tripods, because they're not. But I recently got my hands on this MagnusVT-3000,and it matches every use case and the quality of the more expensive options. The build quality is amazing, pretty much full metal, which also makes it heavy enough and strong enough to support bigger cameras. The fluid head is solid and works as expected. Really, I think the best feature of this tripod is value for money. I can confidently say that I'll never pay crazy amounts of money for a tripod of the same quality when I can simply depend on Magnus to make SOLID products with a price that puts this thing in impulse buy territory. Get this thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ball head on a budget I have three of these, all with different brand names. This tripod is the least expensive ball head I have been able to find. This newest Magnus has an additional feature the others lacked, a sliding instead of fixed plate. This makes balancing a camera front to back much easier. For the price, a good deal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK Tripod, but not for Still Cameras I purchased this tripod for my DSLR as I shoot video as well. The advertisement says it supports DSLRs, but it does so in such a cumbersome way that it's not worth it. You have to mount the quick-release plate perpendicular to the camera, which makes it hit the lens hood and is just awkward to use. When I first emailed their support they told me the tripod was only for film cameras. When I told them what their advertisement said they researched it and explained how to mount the camera as explained above. There was a slight bit of grease that leaked from left side of head and turning it was a bit stiff. I returned it, but I'm sure it's a good system for traditional video cameras assuming it doesn't leak grease (or whatever material it was). Very sturdy and nicely made otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tripod Best PRICE I work as cameramanin television productions and my experience with this tripod has been more than expected. The fluid head is excellent with smooth and precise movements. B & H is the best option to shop online. My order arrived very quickly in time for my next shot. Thanks B & H.
