The Magnus VT-3000 Tripod System with Fluid Head is a stable, sturdy video tripod made from anodized aluminum that can support loads up to 6.6 lb. It provides many features commonly found on more expensive models. The two-way fluid head provides smooth operation, and features a half-ball mount with a diameter of 65mm, with left and right pan bar mounts. One pan bar comes included. The VT-3000 tripod system weighs 7.75 lb.

The 3-section leg design allows you to adjust the height of the tripod from 28.6" to 61". A mid-level spreader and passive counterbalance provide improved stability. The VT-3000 has separate pan and tilt locks and a bubble level for precision leveling, and offers a full 360° pan range. The fixed counterbalance spring incorporated in the head provides smoother tilt movements.

The included quick-release plate features a standard 1/4"-20 mounting screw with a video pin, and features a micro balance slider.

Magnus VT-3000 Overview

The Magnus VT-3000 Tripod System with Fluid Head is a stable, sturdy video tripod made from anodized aluminum that can support loads up to 6.6 lb. Magnus makes a solid, basic video tripod with a ball-leveling head and a decent fluid action for a very good price. No, it's not made for a huge camera. But if you are shooting video with a small camcorder or an SLR, this thing is up to the task easily. There is simply no reason to spend a grand on a tripod. The 3 stage legs fold down small enough that this thing can fit in a suitcase for travel, and I love the little locking tab at the bottom that Snaps the feet together when you want to pack it up. I never use my big heavy Sachtler now.

There are hundreds of cameras compatible. Basically any camera that has a LANC connection is compatible. You can check in the specifications of a camera to see if it has a LANC connection.

How long do you think this unit will last with moderate use? I read a review stating 1-2 years (and resulting in a leaky ball head and poor legs), but wanted to hear what some other people had to say.

Yes - this item comes with a tripod bag. The bag does have handles but if you an invest in a bag with shoulder straps - helps more on jobs/travel.
