Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 Overview

The wired, right-hand VerticalMouse 4 from Evoluent offers a new twist on the classic computer mouse: one that keeps your hand vertically in a "handshake" position while you're pointing, clicking, and scrolling. That means your arm sits neutrally without twisting, which is designed to afford extra ergonomic comfort during extended sessions.

The shape of the mouse is sculpted for superior ergonomics, and the programmable buttons are easy to reach. Pointer speed controls on the side allow convenient adjustment of the laser sensor without releasing your hold on the mouse. There's also a thumb rest, which has been reshaped from earlier versions to offer added comfort. Top-mounted LEDs show through the chrome thumb rest to indicate one of the four selectable pointer speeds (extra low, low, medium, and high).

Another feature that sets this mouse apart from the crowd is its lighted Evoluent logo, which turns off when the mouse is in sleep mode to conserve notebook battery power. An extra-wide lip along the bottom edge prevents your last finger from rubbing the desk. The included driver, Evoluent Mouse Manager for Windows, lets you program six buttons and extend functionality of the bottom thumb button. This mouse has been tested to work with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. Simply connect it using an available USB-A port.

Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 Reviews

Comfy but overpriced and non-standard default buttons

I have both left and right handed versions of VerticalMouse 4. they are comfortable and better than the cheap knockoffs. However, the button assignments are not standard. the scroll wheel does not default to middle click. the normal right click is middle click. right click is a far right button. so, there are 3 buttons + scroll wheel button. the back and forward buttons default to back and non-functional unless you install the custom software. Not sure why they couldn't just default the buttons to a normal configuration -- left/right + middle wheel click and back/forward. those who want to change them can install the app.

Excellent Product
