  • 500W Hot Light Equivalent

The Flolight FL-110HMT Economy Fluorescent Video Light (110-240 VAC) is a great choice for a studio fixture when low price, high output, low running cost, and soft light are priorities. The FL-110HMD uses two 55W fluorescent lamps to give you an impressive 500W hot light equivalent. That's impressive enough, but it does it with minimal heat and a low power draw of only 100.6W. That means that you won't toast the talent while saving money both on kilowatt usage of the fixture and on AC costs that would have been needed when the hot lights you used turned your studio into a sauna. With a lamp life of about 8000 hours the FL-110HMT is practically maintenance-free.

FloLight FL-110HMD Overview

The fixture comes with two 5400K lamps and a gooseneck mount.

Fluorescents give naturally soft, even light.
The FL-110HMD is perfect for studio or location work where power hungry incandescents can quickly overload available power. With just a fraction of the heat of incandescents you also avoid cooking your talent or constantly running air conditioning.
The FL-110HMD utilizes two 55W Biax lamps.

This light puts off one heck of a punch. I've used it mostly for internal photo shoots, and just recently an external video shoot an hour after sunset. With a little camera work, this light made it seem like sunset was hitting as I was shooting! Awesome little light, definitely worth adding to your arsenal of grip gear.

Light Weight, Powerful Beautiful soft light.

This is a solid product, it produces a flattering soft light even when not diffused. It's very light weight, the goose-knack is flexible and durable. I use mine as a fill-light in combination with the Flolight FL-220AWD. I love this system and would consider buying another set of both. I didn't notice any major color temperature issues. Just make sure to let the lights run for a little bit before shooting. I find the FL-110HMD to be very affordable, and I much prefer the quality of light from these flourescents compared to LEDs in this price range on the market right now.

Bought a total of 6 lights. All came working. Great power and great for lighting greens screens. If you can afford it grab the 4 light instead of 2 light flowlight

the quality of light is wonderful. Doesnt fit on all light stands and c stands but gives a good punch, lightweight, and simple.

The light does what it is supposed to do but mine came with a plate that did not sit flush (manufacturing problem). B&H is sending me a new one. Fine for small indoor studio.

question

Will these be flicker free shooting at 180 fps?
Asked by: Mark
At 180 fps you will be fine. But with these lights do not go that much above. Then you could get some flickering.

Yes, the light is multi-voltage. You just need an adapter so the plug fits in your countries outlets. The plug it comes with is USA.

question

Is the light as bright as its specs? It says that it is 660 lux @ 6' with 2X55 watt bulbs, where the Kino Flo 47 has 4X75 watt bulbs and has a rating 775 lux @6'.
Asked by: Anonymous
I use two of them to light up a green screen. They are very bright. Brighter than my key and fill lights. But they are not true daylight as the lean to the blue-green side. Not a real problem through color correction. And for my use its fine.
