The Elite Tripod CT-3472 M2 from Feisol is constructed using CNC milled 6061-T6 aluminum and high-grade carbon fiber legs that make the tripod a lightweight 3.9 lb. Also, by unlocking the twist locks, the 4-section tripod can reach a maximum height of 57.9", and with the 3 variable leg angles of 25, 50, and 75°, the support can go as low as 3.4". Meanwhile, Feisol's Rapid anti-leg rotation technology does not allow the legs to twist when fully extended. Because of the 66 lb weight capacity, the tripod supports mirrorless to large format cameras for professional applications. Additionally, the legs fold 180° in reverse, which makes it a compact 20.5", and the built-in bubble level ensures that your horizon is aligned every time.
- Load Capacity: 66 lb
- Maximum Height: 57.9"
- Minimum Height: 3.4"
- Folded Length: 20.5"

FEISOL CT-3472 Rapid M2 Reviews
A great Replacement for.....
....my Feisol CT-3371. Lighter and more compact.
Great tripod in every respect but shorter than B&H shows
B&H incorrectly shows this tripod as having a maximum height of 74.8 inches when it actually is 57.87 inches. You can add a center column to gain more height but that is a different matter. The build quality is every bit as good as that of the RRS TVC-34L that I also own. The load rating is accurate as I can put all my weigh on the legs and there is zero leg flexing even with them fully extended. What is great with these Feisol tripods is that the top plate is held in by 3 hex screws and so the plate can be removed and replaced with a Feisol Leveling Base or a center column and add even a horizontal a boom added. When using a gimbal head for a telephoto lens I put on the standard base and when using a geared panning head for landscape and architectural photography. RRS provides similar accessories but they are added one on top of the other and not nearly as clean an approach. Feisol provides a very nice pro grade carry case for the tripod that is long enough to accommodate a head attached to the legs. With Gitzo and RRS all I got was a cardboard box. The only accessory I do not like is the Feisol spike feet as they are designed such that they are not stable when the spike is retracted, due in part to the coarse threading used. If spiked feet are important to you then I would not recommend a Feisol tripod.
Impressed
I started off with an old Velbon Stratos 450 I found at Goodwill, moved on to a Vanguard Alta 263AP. Rather short for a 6' guy and not up to a real 12 Lb camera and lens. My concern was Height, Stability and Price. This fits that in spades. The head plate sets about my chin. I set it up, all legs extended full and hung from it, I weigh 195 lbs, Didn't move!! Planted a Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head on it and, This has got it going on! My Second choice was the Really Right Stuff TVC-45 at over twice the price, I was having a hard time justifying the cost for a hobby. This Feisol checked all my boxes and then some.
Using for 2 years and LOVE IT
I read reviews about several tripods Two years ago when I was shopping for stable lightweight tripod, after comparing reviews and price I decided to go with this one, also bought the leveling base and spikes Feisol makes. Pros: -Light weight -Short when folded, Packs inside a 22 roller-board -Very stable -Durable -Soft padded covering on the top section, really helps in cold weather -Excellent customer service provided by Feisol (I broke the set up ring on my other Feisol CT-3401 smaller tripod and they send new rings to me for free) Cons: -Legs scratches pretty easily if you are not carefull, clean (remove sand) before you retract the legs -One of the leg's position adjusting tab is little tight, kind of worn out little bit, but still working well. -
I would look at other but may end up purchasing it again.
Scratches easily! I really like how stable it is but if you are going to use it on the beach really clean it well before retracting the legs as it really hangs on to sand and will scratch easily.
Pleased with the purchase
I have been using the CT-3472 in combination with the Benro Carbon Fiber Gimbal head for a year now. I'm pleased with the combination. The legs are easy and quick to extend and retract. I added the optional Fiesol leveller and retractable feet.
Fantastic tripod
Great tripod so far! Thick legs but not bulky or heavy. A huge stabilization improvement over my previous travel tripod. Legs unlock and extend very quickly and smoothly. Padded grips perfect for keeping your hands warmer during winter photo shoots.
Doesn't stand up to weather
I've owned this tripod for 2+ years now. During that time it has failed me on several occasions, and I find it needs constant maintenance. I've had to send it back to Feisol twice due to issues with the angle locks not working on the spider. I have to remember to re-tighten all the leg locks on a particular leg if I make an adjustment, or I run the risk of the leg "sinking". Does not stand up AT ALL to the Utah / Arizona desert. Dust will brick this tripod, forcing a complete teardown, cleaning, and reassembly. My Sirui R-series tripod is much better in all respects. If you work in the field, do yourself a favor and pass this one by. Spend the extra $$ and buy a Gitzo or RRS, or maybe a Sirui W series. This one's only good for studio work.
