  • Auray BAE-2X Two-Section Broadcast Arm with External Springs & Integrated XLR Cable

The Auray BAE-2X is a sturdy two-section broadcast arm with external springs. It's a versatile and practical accessory for professional and home studios, and is ideal for broadcasts, voiceovers or podcasts. The arm features an integrated 15' XLR cable.

The BAE-2X is designed with a wide range of motion for precise microphone placement and minimal noise when repositioning the microphone. The external balance-spring design is precision-engineered to support microphones of up to 3.6 lb (1.6kg), and hold them in place. This broadcast arm features a standard 5/8"-27 microphone stud mount that's compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips. The heavy-duty combo mount, consisting of a sturdy C-clamp and a heavy metal desktop mount, offers options for fastening the broadcast arm onto a desktop or permanent installation with the included mounting screws. The 14-inch riser is included to add height to the arm so that it extends over computer or studio monitors.

MXL BCD-1 reviews

BCD-1 Live Broadcast Dynamic Microphone Podcaster Package is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Upgrade Mic for Podcasters I bought this mic looking for an upgrade from my AT2005USB. I wanted something with a little more punch on the low end, the Audio Technica is great for the money, but in editing can come across a little thin. I was hoping the mic would provide a nice upgrade in performance without having to spend twice as much as a Heil or Shure broadcast solution. I'm looking at podcast applications specifically. The BCD-1 definitely has more body and bass than the AT2005USB. I've used it for VO for radio promotions and the raw audio is much better for the task than its predecessor. My only major complaint is that the mic is very sensitive to plosives. It would be unusable with the mic by itself. Right now I'm using a pop filter and the included windscreen, but I still have to be much more mindful of my mic technique than the AT2005USB. I've used a Shure SM7B for radio work in the past, and haven't had the same issue, so I'm fairly sure it's the mic rather than just bad habits on my part. That being said, I wanted a mic that gave me more of a radio broadcast feel from my home, and this mic delivers. Side and back rejection are great. The mic isn't as flat responding as an RE20 or SM7B, but it has a great presence I wasn't expecting at that price. The included boom is also good quality and pretty sturdy, especially as a $20 add-on. The only issue is the XLR cable at the end doesn't have quite enough slack to let you move around the mic. I have to lock the included mount so the mic input is closest to the cable and then use only the boom to reposition. Not ideal but it works for now.
