Pyle Pro PP444 Overview

The Pyle Pro Ultracompact Phono Turntable Preamplifier converts a phono signal to a line-level signal, allowing it to connect to any standard line input without a phono connection, including audio receivers, amplifiers, or audio interfaces for recording into a computer.

The ultralow noise audio conditioning circuitry allows the preamp to boost audio to levels that are more manageable for various types of audio equipment. The preamplifier features dual RCA inputs and outputs as well as a turntable ground and a stereo 1/4" output jack. The PP444 ships with a 12 VDC power supply.

Really great little piece of technology. Affordable, high quality and easy to use with my turntable. I think it looks pretty cool too.

Pyle Pro Ultracompact vs Pyle Pro For my old Technics SL-Q200. PP999 Phono Preamplifier. Are they quality wise the same audio output?. I'm only a hobbyist and digitizing LP's. Thanks
Asked by: Larry
Both the Pyle Pro Ultracompact Phono Turntable Preamplifier and the Pyle Pro PP999 Phono Preamplifier will deliver quality audio from their outputs in a similar manner. The Pyle Pro Ultracompact Phono Turntable Preamplifier has an extra output as well, which differentiates it from the PP999.

will it work with a moving coil cartridge, connected between my turntable and my integrated amplifier?
Asked by: moshe
This product is not a good choice for a Moving Coil cartridge. You'll get a weak signal that will need to be boosted, and there will probably be a lot more noise. Moving Coil carts tend to be very high quality, so it would be a shame to use the wrong preamp and not get all of the potential quality.

question

Can I use it with a YOGA HT-81 to increase gain and reduce noise? Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
Increase gain, yes. Reduce noise, no. Increasing gain Always increases noise. This is an inviolable rule of physics and electricity--noise is always part of an audio signal. The question is how much noise. This is a specialty product, designed to take the signal coming from a turntable with a moving magnet cartridge (very low-level) and boost it to the level that typical contemporary consumer amplifiers will accept. For something at this price, it does a good job. But it only does that, and can't be adjusted to do anything else.

question

I am trying to hook up an old phonograph to a 90s Pioneer receiver (which still has a Phono input). The problem is the components are too far away from each other - probably need about 3 feet of RCA cable and ground extension. Do I need an item like this, or does Phono input offer enough boost to make the preamp moot? Thank you.
Asked by: Brian T.
If your receiver has a dedicated phono-in, three feet of RCA cable won't require a pre-amp. Mine required it because my late-model receiver abandoned the phono-in so the workaround is to use the Pyle pre-amp into an AUX input. Good luck.
