The 77mm Digital Video Lens Hood from Dot Line is constructed from thick, hard, rubberized matt material and is designed to not only reduce glare, but to protect the lens and camera body from damage due to accidental bumping. The rectangular shape of the hood is designed to match the aspect ratio for video capture and the interior of the hood contains molded ridges to further cut down on glare.

The lens hood attaches snugly to the lens by a metal screw-mount that matches the filter size of the lens. A squeeze type lens cap is included and fits securely on the lens or filter to prevent scratching and dust or moisture from getting on the lens while not in use.

77mm Digital Video Lens Hood is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quality, smart design, but possible vignetting w/24mm Loved the quality and design of this. Previous reviewer was right. It comes with an 82mm cap and the cap area is threaded for 82mm filters. It also rotates, so wherever it tightens on your lens, you can ultimately square it up snug. Be aware that with a Canon 24-105 lens, you will see noticeable vignetting when pulled wide. That's my go-to lens for filming with my 5D mkiii. I was sad to have to return this. If it was slightly less deep at the round part of the hood, it would be totally great for wider lenses. I still have to give it 4 stars as it was awesome, otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra-portable, well-designed! I bought this because using screw-in filters such as variable ND prevent me from using the included lens hoods on most of my photo lenses while filming with them. The box rotates 360 so that, no matter where it lands when you finish screwing the unit in, you can always level it. The 77mm version accepts 82mm screw-in filters in front which was a great design decision because it eliminates the vignetting that would have occurred in many cases by using a 77mm filter that would be installed several mm in front of the lens. I am very happy with my setup using this in conjunction with the Ursa Mini 4.6k EF and Sigma Art primes behind with 82mm Heliopan UV/IR Cut and VND in front. It's very easy to remove/reattach this unit with my entire filter stack in it when switching lenses. Although using more filters inside of the unit reduces its efficacy as a shade because the first glass element is further forward, it still works well by providing protection and nicely corralling the multiple filters often called for. (You need to use a UV/IR cut filter when you are using ND on Blackmagic cameras and then sometimes you want to use polarizers too!)
