Kopul M4002 Overview

The Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable (2') is a studio-quality cable for connecting mics to mixers, preamps, audio interfaces and recorders; or to be used in any other application where XLR connectivity is required. The cable is engineered to be both quiet and durable, and is well-suited for critical recording and broadcast situations.

Studio Elite 4000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. A 98% braided outer shield makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrix XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.

98% braided shield offers protection from EMI and RFI noise.
Twin-conductive PVC inner shielding provides 100% coverage of the core conductor. It helps keep the cable's signal from radiating and affecting nearby cables, and also helps prevent external EMI from penetrating to the cable's core.
24 AWG oxygen-free stranded copper inner core provides the best possible conductivity.
Cotton yarn reduces electrostatic and microphonic noise.
All solder points shrink-wrapped for protection.
Neutrik XX silver connectors offer high conductivity.
Cast zinc shell and chuck style strain relief.

I needed a right angle XLR cable for my field mixer, and this one fit my needs perfectly. It's durable, keeps its shape, and works great!

Suddenly started clicking, popping and then stopped entirely. Poor quality cable, even for $20...

Reliable cable

Solid, reliable mic cable. Using it in a studio setting, so there won't be a lot of physical wear and tear that it'll have to endure. Looks well made, makes a clean, solid connection. Perfect for use with my microphone with built-in pre-amp, as the XLR connections allow my audio board to power the pre-amp through the cable. Recommended.

Best XLR cable for the price

These cables are fantastic. I've had some for 5+ years and they're still rocking. Well-built, Neutrik connecters, and zero noise. I couldn't be happier with these cables.

Looks good and is flexible enough when the singer moves with it.

You pay for what you get

For context, I'm a professional VO and was routing my control center outside my booth. Nice for a less expensive XLR, but I ended up having to resolve so many interference issues during setup I'm likely going to upgrade the cables and return these (i.e. a low watt USB accidentally touching the cable resulted in a troubleshooting session). Issues were fairly quickly resolvable with condenser mics, but these rendered my SM7b unusable in my booth with the level of noise I ended up picking up.

Decent cable

I usually default to Kopul 4000 cables, and this makes for a good adapter if I need to squeeze a mic into a tight space.

Can one side of the cable plug into the Zoom H4 and the other side into the rode ntg 2?

The Kopul Studio Elite 4000 cables would be the correct cable used to connect a shotgun mic such as the Rode NTG-2 to the input on the Zoom H4n recorder.

question

Is this really a quality cable? It's spec sheet is well written but I have some pretty serious doubts considering the price points are dramatically below most reputable brands. It's considerably cheaper than guitar center's livewire brand, which I would not consider to be a top quality product. Kopul's own website only offers a 1 year warranty.... Thoughts? Can anyone with longterm experience with this product attest to it's durability and reliable clean sound?

It should be long enough to enable you to be as far away as you want to be from whatever you’re plugged into (eg mixing desk).

question

Does this device improve the input sound coming from a mixer into the H4n via XLR cables?
Asked by: Terry K.
To run a line level signal from a mixer into a Zoom H4N you want to use a 1/4 inch input into the Zoom's combo jack. Buy an XLR to 1/4 TRS cable.

question

Does it come with a powercord?
Asked by: Jeremiah R.
No. The power for the mics comes from the camera on phantom power or the mic if it is wired up or a wireless/battery mic.
