Rated 5 out of 5 by from My FAVORITE Pearl Paper I LOVE this paper for both black and white and color printing. Amazing color gamut, deep, rich, blacks and a surface that doesn't glare when exposed to light. The tonality on this paper is amazing and it's not hard to see why it's an industry standard paper. It is, truly, my favorite pearl paper, right now. And, not only that, but when a nice B&W is printed on it, it looks/feels like an old photo... now, if only we could get that darkroom chemical smell as a spray. :-) In the end, this paper is super cheap, per page, around $0.50 a sheet. That's cheaper than much of the photo paper that you can get from @ and the like. And, the paper is superior to any of those you get there. It works amazingly well with my Epson Artisan 710. The photos come out rendered stunningly and they're even better with the Stylus Photo R3000...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A better paper for just a little more... Let me just say right off the bat that the Ilford Prestige Galerie Smooth Pearl is my new go to paper, replacing the Epson Luster that I have used for years with my Epson 3880 printer. The surface is similar to both the Epson and Ilford luster papers but is just slightly smoother. The result is that the fine details are a little finer, with less detail getting lost in the texture of the surface. The Ilford Prestige Galerie Smooth Pearl paper along with the Ilford profile combine to yield more shadow detail than the Epson Luster paper and profile which by comparison look blocked up. (That is partly because the Epson Luster profile is not very good and if you use the Ilford Galerie Lustre profile with the Epson Luster paper, you will get better results on your Epson Luster paper.) The Ilford paper is also thick which gives it a great substantial feel in the hand especially in the larger sizes where papers can seem flimsy. Also the back of each sheet is left blank unlike the Epson papers which say Epson on the back of each sheet, which I personally dislike, and the back of the Ilford seems less like plastic to the touch than the Epson Luster does. I think Ilford is showing the pro and artistic communities some nice respect in these matters. So although this Ilford Prestige Galerie Smooth Pearl paper costs more than the Epson Luster I like every aspect of it better than the Epson Luster. Great fine details, beautiful saturated color, shadow detail, surface and feel in the hand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice cost effective paper Purchased this paper to replace the Lexjet e -satin paper i stopped using because of high OBA content. It has a very similar look and at around fifty cents a sheet it fit the bill. Seeing mixed claims of OBA content on this paper but it seems there is a trace in the base. This is just a lower cost alternative to the rag papers i use more often but this paper feeds, prints and looks great for the purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Stuff I have used the old Ilford Galerie Pro Inkjet Smooth Pearl for several years and was not happy when it was discontinuedhoweverthe NEW paper is worth the extra money. The printer profile from Ilford is spot on and the very first print of my lab standard file is perfect. The gray scale range has expanded, the black & white is more pure and the color is excellent for skin tones. Well done Ilford!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for editing This isn't the best paper for fine prints, but it's very neutral and fairly durable. I use it for editing and quick prints to play with and print on other paper later. It's cheap enough for this purpose, but good enough to get a good idea of where a print will go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable paper I use this paper for prints of portraits or other images that are used for display. It has a good weight and the colors hold. The price is good for the 250 sheet quantity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paper for the price Best paper for professional looking prints. Thicker than any photo paper I've used, nice rich colors, good contrast. I cannot say anything negative about this paper.
