Key Features
  • Frequency Block 19
  • Digital Hybrid Wireless Technology
  • Selectable RF Output Power
  • 256 UHF Frequencies at 100 kHz
The Lectrosonics SMV Super Miniature Wireless Microphone Transmitter incorporates Lectrosonics patented Digital Hybrid Wireless technology into a package no bigger than a pager. The SMV transmitter is miniature in size yet rugged enough to withstand rigorous daily use in the field or in studios.

To meet the demand for both extended operating range and extended battery life, this version of the SMV transmitter offers a selectable output power of 50, 100 or 250 mW. The 50mW option is provided for some theatrical applications, where the system design specifies lower transmitter power. Channel spacing is also selectable, with 100 and 25 kHz options available. With the spacing set to 100 kHz, the SMV transmitter offers 256 user-selectable UHF frequencies in this block; if that's not enough, setting the spacing to 25 kHz gives you up to 1000 frequencies to work with.

Lectrosonics patented Digital Hybrid technology revolutionizes wireless microphone transmission. Digital audio signal is converted and encoded for analog transmission, then decoded and converted back to digital audio at the receiver. The result is an exceptionally low noise floor as the compandor circuit is eliminated and clear audio reception is retained at greater distances.

The Switchcraft TA5M audio input has a user-calibrated 44 dB gain range, and accepts electret lavalier mics, dynamic mics, or line-level signals. A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed before the A-D converter. The limiter has a range of more than 30 dB and a dual-release envelope, making the limiter transparent while maintaining low distortion.

The non-corrosive, machined aluminum casing is splash proof and features an LCD display with membrane switch control panel. The transmitter is powered by one AA lithium, NiMH, or alkaline battery for up to 7.25 hours (lithium). The SMV transmitter is completely compatible with all Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid wireless receivers as well as older Lectrosonics analog receivers.

These little transmitters from Lectrosonics do so much in tiny package. great range, no drop outs or interference issues. Being so small they are easy to hide on tight and challenging wardrobe. They can be controlled using the lectro Rm iPhone app which means the only time you need to physically retrieve the pack from talent during a performance is to change the battery- which you will do less often due to the fact you can put the Tx to sleep when the talent is off the set and wake it up again when needed using the afore mentioned app.

question

How long can this mic stay in standby mode if using a lithium battery?
Asked by: Anonymous
I'm not sure about standby mode but I've gotten 3.5-4 hours out of use out of the thing. I always use lithium batteries. Energizer makes two different ones though: Advanced which they say lasts up to 6 times longer and Ultimate which they say lasts up to 9 times longer. Great mic!
