I purchased the cord to increase the range of wired headphones. It does increase the reach. However, the sound strength coming out of the headphones is noticeably reduced, making the use of the cable a significant compromise. I had to switch to Bluetooth headphones to get what a needed. So if your signal is strong enough than you will be fine.

Use this to rig up different shotgun mics on a makeshift boom pole. Works great. I use it around cell phones and a wifi router and there I haven't noticed any interference. Its simple, boring, and does it's job. Perfect.

Volume is diminished when headphones are fully plugged into extension. Have the extension plugged into my Mac Studio. If I insert the headphones partially the volume is normal but one channel is missing. Plugging headphones directly into the computer there is no issue. Tried two different sets of earbuds. Do I need a different type of extension?
If you are using a stereo headset earbud with inline microphone then you need a TRRS extension cable, as opposed to the Pearstone TRS extension cable, like B&H # STMUHSMF1M for example.

Is there any particular reason this doesn't come in 50' as BH #PEMMSA150B ?
Probably because of the significant amount of signal loss you'd get from a 50' cable of this quality and size.

Can this transfer phantom power to a microphone ...
Can this transfer phantom power to a microphone without reducing the quality of the sound?
No, phantom power (48V) is typically transferred through an XLR input on a camera, mixer or recorder, often for shotgun style condenser mics, and large and small diaphragm condenser mics. Perhaps you may be thinking of plug-in power, which is a very low voltage (such as 3 to 5V) supplied through the 3.5mm mic input on devices like cameras or recorders for lavalier style condenser mics. The Pearstone cable can transfer plug-in power, but not phantom power.
