LensCoat LCBGCGCBDC overview

  • 1Description

The BodyGuard Compact Clear Back Case with Grip from LensCoat, in Digital Camo finish, protects your camera and optional grip from dust, dirt, scratches, and dings. When you're out shooting in the field you want to guard against bumps and abrasions. The soft, shock-absorbing neoprene covering prevents impact damage, helping to maintain the resale value of your system. One of the major advantages of this cover is that it allows you to use your camera while the lens is attached.

The cover contains a clear plastic back giving you full view of the camera's LCD. It also contains two plastic windows on top for additional views of your camera's functions. In use, you can depress the shutter button through the neoprene cover or slide your finger through one of its finger slits, for a better feel of the shutter.

Another value of this cover is that it will help reduce the noise caused when you fire the camera. A touch-fastened flap located on top protects the camera's hot shoe. The BodyGuard installs and removes easily, giving you rapid access to the battery and media card compartments. It's designed to fit DSLRs measuring 5 x 5.75 x 2". The Digital Camo is an advanced computer generated camouflage pattern. It is modeled after the U.S. Army's standard-issue ACU pattern, which provides a pixelated pattern that maximizes visual breakup. The pattern, constructed from small rectangular pixels of color, mimics naturally occurring dappled textures and rough boundaries.

    LensCoat LCBGCGCBDC reviews

BodyGuard Compact Clear Back Case with Grip (Digital Camo) is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is Cool! Though it is somewhat difficult to get on my D700 with the grip, it protects the camera well and looks great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A complete waste of $ -clumsy, generic form fits no camera well and every camera poorly -shell is almost completely open on front, providing no protection at all -access cutouts in shell fit neither flash, cable ports, memory card access, or fingers Don't waste your money as I did, thinking this would be a practical padded shell for a Canon T4i with grip. It isn't. With the T3/T4 obviously you cannot unfold the LCD, the placement of the cutout slits in the side of the shell apparently mean you are expected to hold and operate the camera's controls with 4 fingers braced up the sides of the body? Meanwhile the velcro-closure on top barely fits the hotshoe, let alone allowing the flash. The clear plastic back does allow you to use the rear panel buttons properly but and does not interfere with the touch-sensitive LCD, but overall this shell is so ill-fitting it's more a liability than a benefit as you'll be constantly peeling it away to access the shutter, power switches or any other adjustment on a Canon. And of course it provides no protection whatsoever to your lens, or really the front of the camera at all as the large cross-shaped slit to fit the barrel through means it is nearly wide open. Do yourself a favour and buy a removable carrycase or neoprene shell at 1/3 the price instead.
