Mogami W2534-03-164 Overview

The W2534 cable provides high immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI) and extremely low capacitance, allowing it to yield a 10 to 20 dB improvement in signal-to-noise ratio performance compared to similar twisted pair cables. As a result, the W2534 cable is also ideal for home/project studios in which grounding issues and wiring problems exist.

Conductor insulation is XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene), which has excellent electrical characteristics and prevents shrink-back during soldering

Served (spiral) bare copper shield is superior to foil or braided shields for sound quality and simplifies termination

B&H had this Mogami superior product in the length we needed, and by far the best price. I checked everywhere, they were the best - no other vendor came close. And it arrived fast!

The Good Stuff

Not cheap, but generally regarded as some of the best you can buy. Wonderful to work with if you brew your own cables. Strips easily, don't have to comb out the braid, individual wire insulation strips well and hardly shrinks at all when soldering. The soft fine copper in the wire makes the chore of pairing the quad wires easier, as once twisted together they stay together while pre-tinning. Spiral wrapped shield solders easily, and usually fits in the Neutrik pin solder pots if you don't get too crazy with the pre-tin. Sound is clear as a bell and noticeably quieter in a mobile rack jamb packed with gear.
