question

How well would this coupler handle being dragged around on a stage? Would the locking tabs or corners get caught on carpet or other cables?
Asked by: Jonathan
The connector itself is very durable, however you dont wsnt to be dragging it around the stage for several reasons. First it is a beefy connector which can get caught on an object such as a guitar amp (it would easily glide on a clear stage) or even get caught in between other cables (like any connector could) which can potentially cause stress or damage to your cable - especially if you use a standard Cat 5 and not an ethercon. Second it can be a tripping hazard if it was dragged into a traffic area. If you need to drag it everywhere then you probably need a longer cable. If you use good cable you should get 330 of distance on a typical run. Depending on your application you may need a repeater or network switch if going further.
