The SES-AUDIO-N-HDMI from Sescom is an HDMI audio inserter that allows you to replace the audio in an HDMI signal path with audio from an external source. You can simultaneously connect two external audio sources: one via the optical digital input, and one via the L/R RCA inputs. You can then switch between the two external sources, or use the original HDMI audio. These features can be used in A/V scenarios such as video presentations in which a speaker may wish to periodically interrupt the audio from a DVD player with audio from his or her microphone. This way the speaker can add commentary to a video presentation in place of the DVD's audio, without interrupting its video. The device is HDMI 1.3, HDCP 1.2 and DVI 1.0 compliant and features support for 3D HDMI, high-bit-rate audio and a TMDS clock frequency rate of 225 MHz.

Stereo and Multi-Channel Surround Support
Insert stereo audio from mixers and iPods as well as multi-channel surround format audio from DVD players or computers into an HDMI signal path. External output sources can be connected to the unit's digital optical input or analog RCA inputs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Audio Intermittently Garbles Via RCA We use this box to insert visiting broadcaster play-by-play audio over our master HDMI video and send the final product to an HD encoder. The audio, sent via RCA to the Sescom box only works correctly (clean audio) about half of the time. The other half of the time it's garbled and unrecognizable, causing endless grief. Cycling the power on the Sescom box sometimes works, but is usually only temporary. We were displeased to learn that this only carries a 1-month return/exchange warranty through B&H. Keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to exchange this box through Sescom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent item Here's why I needed this item. Scenario: how to send closed circuit TV from our church sanctuary to the nursery? Solution: 1) LCD TV mounted to wall in nursery that supports HDMI inputs. 2) HDMI extender kit that sends/receives HDMI audio/video over CAT5e/CAT6. 3) Digital Video Camera mounted near the sound booth that supports sending HDMI video. (this is the problem, as 95% of digital video cameras don't send audio from the microphone or mic input over HDMI just operating in camera mode). 4) Audio to be provided by output from sound console so it's clear of nearby noises (audience, sound booth workers, etc). 5) In comes the Audio Inserter. - Connect the video camera mini-HDMI (with adapter to normal HDMI) to input of Audio Inserter. - HDMI Output of Audio Inserter connects to HDMI input of HDMI Extender transmitter - Flip switch on Audio Inserter to RCA inputs. - Connect audio output from sound console to RCA inputs on Audio Inserter. Voila!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Gear I use this unit to insert mixed mic audio onto a studio camera feed for direct digital capture. It saves me the step of post syncing, and I don't lose any quality. I can imagine this device being useful in other scenarios as well. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from as advertised Just what I wanted. has a bit of delay when changing the input channel. Nice and crispy sound. it seems a bit expensive when compare it with audio extractor devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised The SES audio n hdmi inserter was able to integrate the audio signal from a mixer and images from camcorder. There is no noticeable synchronization issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked like a charm! This device from Sescom is not only the cheapest I found on the market, but it also works GREAT! I have what I call local playback at my church. Where we are using a consumer grade camera to feed video and audio to a splitter which then feeds the signal to several devices, as many as 10 concurrently. The system has worked as well or even better than I expected but the audio was lacking. In all fairness to the camera even if I were working within what you might call its intended use I never expected a cameras audio to be high quality. (It's hanging from a ceiling 20ft in the air 45 ft from its target area) If I had to pick something to complain about I would say that I wish there were more input choices but it DOES currently support optical, the original HDMI feed, and LR composite connections, just not the quarter inch or XLR I was looking for. In any event, I was prepared to use composite, I have quarter inch adapters to composite coming off of the subs on our analog mixer and I couldn't be more happy with the results. No discernible audio delay, audio is perfectly in sync with the speaker (there was a slight delay before so this device actually resolved that) and its crystal clear. I guess that gives me one more thing to mention. Its not really a complaint because the system has exceeded my expectations but I do wish there was some kind of signal level adjuster on this unit. I can only give it so much boost from my board and I have to have my TV's at 50 out of 100 to get it to a decent audible level. If you change inputs you might be in for a surprise with the volume but as I said, I'm not even counting this as a complaint, espically when you consider that may be more a limitation or problem with my system/input and not the device itself. If you take anything away from this review understand that i'm over the moon about this product and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if I needed another one!
