Sescom HDMI Audio Inserter
Key Features
  • Insert External Audio to HDMI Signal
  • Digital TOSLINK and Stereo RCA Inputs
  • HDMI Sample Rates up to 192 kHz
  • Optical Sample Rates up to 48 kHz
The HDMI Audio Inserter from Sescom allows you to replace the audio in an HDMI signal path with audio from an external source. You can simultaneously connect two external audio sources: one via the optical digital input, and one via the stereo RCA input. You can then switch between the two external sources, or use the original HDMI audio. These features can be used in A/V scenarios such as video presentations in which a speaker may wish to periodically interrupt the audio from a DVD player with audio from his or her microphone. This way the speaker can add commentary to a video presentation in place of the DVD's audio, without interrupting its video. The device is HDMI 1.3, HDCP 1.2, and DVI 1.0 compliant and features support for 3D HDMI, high-bit-rate audio, and a TMDS clock frequency rate of 225 MHz.

How do you set HDMI output resolution? For ex, Blackmagic ATEM switcher requires all HDMI & SDI devices have the same setting.
Asked by: John
You will need to have your HDMI device set to the correct resolution prior to inserting audio. The SES-AUDIO-N-HDMI accepts the incoming HDMI signal and outputs the same resolution with audio inserted- there is no way to adjust the resolution within the unit.

We do not have a stock photo of the other side at this time. It has L/R RCA audio or Toslink in with HDMI in on the other side. You can see an illustration of that in the manual (pg. 3) :http://www.sescom.com/Attachments/Manuals/Sescom/SES-AUDIO-N-HDMI_Man.pdfThanks!

question

Hi!I need to combine the audio from the source HDMI and a external RCA (microphone), but both sounds should play simultaneously. Does this device let me to that?NOTE: i DO NOT need to replace the source audio signal.
Asked by: J P.
Hi J.P.,To do that you'd actually need an hdmi audio extractor (unless your source has analog audio out that actually outputs audio when the hdmi output is being used simultaneously), and a mixer with a mic pre-amp. You would then mix that feed and the external rca mic's feed, and then use the SES-AUDIO-HDMI to insert the finished mix back into the HDMI.
