Love using this on my Fuji GFX cameras with my Nikon 19mm and Canon 24mm lenses. Helps a great deal - especially with the 19mm lens.

I use it especially on wide angle lenses and in tight indoor spaces where ambient light is often beaming from bad angles.

Trying to play with it for a shoot tomorrow and it breaks within 5 minutes. The arm fell after a twisted. try to tape it back in and to no avail. do not buy. it is worthless.

Poor build quality

The arm itself is way too stiff to adjust easily. While trying to adjust it, the cold shoe mount snapped in half. I got less than one hour of use on it on a remote shoot.

Great for smaller cameras/ matteboxes

I have a Wooden Camera Zip Box Pro, which doesn't allow for side flags, and this is a perfect fit for that box. Cold shoe has a 1/4 20 thread on it so it can be mounted on a clamp or quick release.

not bad but not great

the arm feels a bit cheap but that's fine for the price. my big gripe is that it should extend a few inches longer. it barely shades my 24mm tilt-shft lens

question

Could the Dinkum Systems compact lens shade be used as a shade to protect the lens somewhat from dew or rain drops when shooting star trails with a Nikon FM2?
Asked by: Anonymous
This product is designed to protect a camera's lens from the sun to reduce flairs. It is not meant to protect your camera from rain, this does not sound like the proper product for you. My suggestion would be that you email [email protected] directly, they will be able to help you find the right product for your vintage camera.
