Could the Dinkum Systems compact lens shade be used as a shade to protect the lens somewhat from dew or rain drops when shooting star trails with a Nikon FM2?
This product is designed to protect a camera's lens from the sun to reduce flairs. It is not meant to protect your camera from rain, this does not sound like the proper product for you.
