question

Is the MC-25A supposed to be able to work with the AR-10? Works fine with the MC-12A, but does not seem to like the thread of the AR-10?
Asked by: William B.
AR-10 has two cords/cables being triggered simultaneously: one is pure mechanical, the other one is electronic (2 pins, male connector). I connect 2-pins electronic side to MC-25A (2-pins, female connector side), which in turns enable me to connect to D800 (10-pins). I use mechanical trigger side of AR-10 to connect to Nikon macro-bellows PB-6 with Micro Nikkor 105mm/2.8D attached). PB-6 is all mechanical. Without this intermediate set up, I would not be able to close the aperture on the lens. A bit of manual work, but it performs well.
