Ruggard Pro 65 overview

  • 1Description

The Commando Pro 65 DSLR Shoulder Bag from Ruggard is slightly larger than the Pro 55 and is sized to hold your large DSLR system with grip and most 13" laptops. The 13 x 8" laptop sleeve prevents your camera gear from bumping into your computer. Four removable dividers allow you to configure the interior to suit your gear needs.

The exterior is water-repellent 600D high-density Oxford nylon, complemented by a smooth 150D polyester lining designed not to scratch your equipment. The bag is covered by a quick release front flap and an interior zippered lid. This provides two ways to both protect and access your gear. If you don't want to zipper the lid, its touch fastener attaches to the cover flap, allowing you to use just the front quick release buckle.

For storage, there's a front zippered organizer pocket that contains multiple slip-in pockets for small items such as pens, as well as two touch-fastened memory card pockets. In addition, there's a zippered mesh pocket under the lid, one airline-style mesh side pocket, and a side loop that will accept an optional pouch. A rear zippered pocket can be used for collateral material and files.

Rubber feet on the bottom of the bag protect it when placed on the ground. All the bag's zippers feature a yellow pull tab for ease of use while wearing gloves. Each side of the bag contains an extra quick release coupler for additional security. A removable rain cover located in a zippered bottom pocket can be readily deployed when the weather turns against you. The Commando Pro 65 is carried by its adjustable, removable, padded shoulder strap that connects to metal D-rings. A top carry handle and rear trolley sleeve offer you additional carrying options.

    Ruggard Pro 65 reviews

Commando Pro 65 DSLR Shoulder Bag is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Fine Shoulder Bag The Commando Pro 65 is a well made shoulder bag, and it holds just about everything a photographer needs for a photo shoot. One thing, though: the photographer lugging it around had better have a pretty strong shoulder if he or she elects to fill the bag to capacity. In my case, I put in a DSLR with a long zoom lens, another wide zoom lens, an electronic flash unit, several filters, a battery charger, and spare camera and flash batteries. Dang! It weighs a lot. Consequently it tends to slide off my shoulder. I'd recommend it to a friend, as long as the friend was strong. It's definitely not a bag for weaklings, if it's full of gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made and Holds a Lot The camera case is well made and designed. This is what I have put in it: Nikon D40 camera and 55mm lens, Stylus 770 SW waterproof camera in carry case, Canon Vixia HFG30 Camcorder plus sun shade, Nikon 70-300mm Zoom lens, Battery chargers and power cords for all 3 cameras, A pair of 10X40 Ziess Armored Binoculars, An Acer 13 laptop, A mini power strip and plug adapter for the UK, Lens brush, mini tripod, Power cords for two cell phones, and One pack of lens filters for the Nikon camera. It is fully packed but not overstuffed, and it is a pretty heavy load. I'll have to tell you later how it holds up as I have not yet really used it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and convenient I purchased this bag to organize all of my equipment on one place. I have a DSLR with 4 lenses, 2 flashes, and a mirrorless camera with 2 lenses and a flash. I have other smaller bags for day trips, hiking, travel, etc. I found it is convenient to have one central place to store all my equipment and then just take out what I need for short trips or specific shoots. Another reason I chose the bag was because it is a perfect airline carry on size and has a strap to attach to my suitcase. This came in handy when I went to LA to shoot a wedding. It held all my equipment with no problem. It has feet so when you put it down it doesn't flop over. I was able to be mobile during the shoot. Keep in mind, though, it gets very heavy real fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Commando Pro 65--outstanding bag Purchased for my wife to carry her Nikon 7100- and related gear. She had a Pelican hard body back pack which is nicely built but heavy and not easily configured for custom compartments. after looking at other options and quality of build and materials, we ordered the Pro 65. This bag does it all, carries the lenses, filters, camera body and still has room for other needed items. Well thought out design, great shoulder strap and best price point for the quality... Wife is very happy..lighter and more secure than prior bags but rugged aned safe for all contents

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for Me! I needed a bag to carry a small video interview kit: Panasonic Lumix FZ-1000, two Audio Technica AT8537 Lavaliers (10 long in the cases), a GoPro Hero4Black (don't laugh its perfect), a Zoom H4n, and a small hot shoe LED Light. A sturdy Manfrotto Tripod goes along too but not in the case. I bought this case for dimensions and price. It is perfect. Its construction and ruggedness give me confidence my gear is protected and its quiet good looks exude professionalism. It has exterior pockets for batteries and pens and small not pads and memory cards and the pocket on the inside for a small tablet is perfect for a white card as well and strong straps hold the little tripod perfectly. The thing is Aces - I love it. Great Purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great bag at a great price. My primary camera case is the ThinkTank Airport International. It's a fantastic case to carry everything I have in it but it's not convenient to work out at some events. I do a lot of photography of performances in theaters (dance shows, magic shows, etc.) The ThinkTank is too big to have with me in a seat and really takes up a lot of space when you open it. The Commando Pro 65 looked like a great second bag to use for that purpose. It works perfectly for that purpose! I was able to put all my lenses (10-22, 50, 85, 75-300) and my second body in the bag and have the bag at my feet where I could easily get to everything There are plenty of pockets and compartments so I could take everything I needed to my seat. The only negatives to the bag are that the strap is not as comfortable as it looks (the material under the pad would better if it was a soft material, like neoprene) and the rain jacket is set up oddly. The rain jacket is open in the back but covers the bottom. I think it's set up that way so you can still use the rear trolley sleeve even with the rain jacket on but I would prefer the jacket to cover the top and all sides rather than leaving the back exposed. These are minor inconveniences and I am very satisfied with the bag!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice bag Nikon D750, nikon 24-120mm fx lens on it stores vertically perfectly. also have in bag nikon 70-300 mm FX lens, sb500 flash, battery grip, extra battery cartrdige, multiple optech straps, sling, clips, photovision 14 foldable white balance card. Bag seems huge, but it holds everything nicely. Definitley need free dividers BH includes to make everything fit nicely. With all this stuff in it, the bag is not stuffed, but everything is accessible the way i like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bag for Pro Gear! This bag is super! I can fit everything in it I need for a normal portrait shoot: camera body w/ 24-70 attached, 70-200 w/ lens hood, 100mm prime, 2 flash units, triggering unit, light meter and a whole assortment of miscellaneous accessories, extra batteries, etc. Even a water bottle or 2 on the outside! And though heavy (of course) when loaded down, the bag adds very little to the weight itself - it's very light but durable and well put-together. LOVE this bag... because what's not to love given all that!
