Mackie S515 Overview

The Mackie S515 - 15" Two-Way Passive Loudspeaker provides both professional-level power handling and sonic performance. This portable two-way loudspeaker handles up to 1,200 watts of peak power. The S515 utilizes custom-specified drivers and all-wood enclosures to deliver touring-quality sound in designs that are rugged and affordable.

The S515's wood enclosure and 15" woofer provides excellent response and extended low-frequency output without rattle or vibration. Substantial internal bracing provides a rigid enclosure, also reducing unwanted vibration. The entire acoustic chamber is air-displaced with adiabatic acoustic batting, dampening the internal midrange reflections so they can't bleed back through the LF transducer cone. This, along with LF porting, allows the Mackie S515 to deliver huge sound in a compact design.

PVC Vinyl Covering
The S515 features a durable PVC vinyl covering that protects against the occasional ding or spilled drink. It also has protective edge bumpers. The bumpers have built-in cups for stacking multiple full-range loudspeakers along with sturdy integrated side handles with an ergonomic design that is ideal for transportation.
HF Protection Circuitry
The S515 enclosure features protective circuitry for the high frequency driver. When the speaker gets driven beyond its limits, the HF protection circuitry kicks in and immediately reduces power. You will clearly hear the highs drop in level, signaling that the speakers are being driven too intensely. This also protects the high frequency driver from damage.
