I have a Vanguard Alta Pro 263 with a Canon 5d Mark lll, Do you think that this Nodal fit on it?
You take the head off the Vanguard Alta Pro 263 tripod and the Nodal Ninja RD16 II has a 3/8th female thread so it will attach to it. But the top has a M6 female thread and that is designed for a Nodal Ninja head like the Nodal Ninja NN4 Tripod Head. The top centre hole is tapped M6. How deep is the tap? I want to use my own screws & clamps on top.
The whole is about 1cm deep, and can confirm, it is about 7 full rotations of a screw until it bottoms out.

Yes. It is designed to mount on lower rail systems of current Nodal Ninjas using anti-twist sockets and M6 female thread with supplied 1/4 hex screw.
It has the standard 3/8"-16 mounting thread for tripods, which the 055XPRO also uses.

The bottom of the pan head is 3/8 which is standard for most tripods. But the top is not standard.There are others that are standard. How do you attach an RRS BH-55 (3/8-16 female) to the top of the RD16 II?

I followed the suggestions in an article called, "MATING REALLY RIGHT STUFF AND NODAL NINJA PANORAMIC GEAR" by John Witsell. The article contains photos and details re: John's setup. IMO, easier to read his details versus stumbling though my instructions.
