The chestnut Camera Leash by HoldFast Gear is a 15.3" camera attachment strap made of English Bridle leather that has a split ring on one end and a D-ring on the other. The chestnut Camera Leash by HoldFast Gear is a 15.3" camera attachment strap made of English Bridle leather that has a split ring on one end and a D-ring on the other. When paired with an optional harness, this leash allows you to carry a third camera when working a busy event or strenuous location shoot. The Leash can serve as a camera wrist strap or a key ring, and is compatible with a diverse amount of HoldFast gear. Clip the split ring into an optional Holdfast Accessory Clip, or the Money Maker Harness, or tie to the Leather Photo Belt. A nickel plated D-ring allows you to further accessorize this strap with attachments like the Leather HF Triple Bag.

Although some photos may show silver colored hardware; the manufacturer has switched over to black hardware. Therefore your Camera Leash will arrive with black hardware.

Attach two leashes to an optional Money Maker Harness in order to secure a third camera to the harness, and secure more Leashes onto various D-rings to hold extra gear like accessory pouches.
Slide one end of the leash through the D-ring and attach to an optional Holdfast Accessory Clip to wear your camera on a wrist strap.
Fold the strap into a key ring and wear your keys on any photo belt, including the HoldFast Photo Belt.

Great product. Sturdy and tough leather, but treat nicely at the edges so it won't feels harsh. It is not just a trim , but also aesthetically pleasing with a nice touches. Obviously a company dedicated to style as well as function. Lot of attention to details. Easy recommendation.

...it's just a bit too short. The fit and finish of this strap are exceptional. I love that I can unclasp it with the hand that it's strapped to, which is important to me. What's also important is that I can easily slide my big hand through the wrist loop. The leather is top grade and the hardware is stylish and superbly functional. It's packaged with everything you'll need except for the accessory clip ($28). For my needs, I'm not yet sure if I'm going to attempt to stretch the leather, purchase the accessory clip (which offers connection to the camera's base mount), or add a small loop of paracord between the keyring and the camera ring, in order to get the length I need to release the tension I have while holding my Canon 80D. My wrists are probably a little larger than most wrists, so I suspect this strap would be fine for most people attaching it to one of the neckstrap rings. It's hard to give this strap a four star rating over something like length when it's probably only about 3/4 from being comfortable, especially when the rest of the product exceeds your five star expectations. Since I have wide wrists, I'm going to assume much of my length is lost there, and give this strap the rating it deserves.

HoldFast Gear Camera Leash comes in Bridle Black, Bridle Chestnut, Bridle Tan, Buffalo Black, Buffalo Burgundy, and Buffalo Tan. Unfortunately I don't see any that say silver. The hardware for all of them is silver in color though.

Is there a patch of leather included to protect the camera from the clasp of the wrist strap where it attaches to the post of the camera?

There is not but it is not really a concern that I have had. I have used his strap for over a year and have never had damage to the camera body for the clasp. And PS I love this strap!
