This Impact LS-RL7 7.2' Reverse Legs Light Stand is a lightweight support that's ideal for location work or in the studio for use with a small lights or to hold reflectors. This is one of the few stands to be able to sit completely flush to the floor where they can be taped down or sandbagged to stabilize its load. The LS-RL7's unique design allows the legs to fold up around the central risers somewhat like an inverted umbrella. The result is a 7.2' light stand that breaks down to only 19.5" - short enough to fit in even the smallest light kit bags. The stand is topped with a 5/8" mounting stud with 3/8" threads, a 3/8" 1/4"-20 adapter, and weighs just 2.6 lb.

Impact LS-RL7 Reviews
Excellent, until it fails
After purchasing one of these back in 2023, I used it sporadically in instances where a normal stand or a c-stand weren't necessary: mainly when using small, off camera flashes in interior settings. Yesterday was one of these instances, with an unexpected outcome. While hand-tightening the collar that locks the legs in place, the collar failed with as snap, as can be seen in the attached picture. I will pay the premium for Manfrotto next time, and hope it doesn't fail too. Pros: very compact when closed, 7.2' is a good working height, handles small lighting equipment and modifiers well. Cons: It failed catastrophically after normal and sporadic use.
stable, foldable, but kind of heavy
I bought this stand to pair with beauty lights and I was drawn to the fact that it collapses to fit in a carry-on. The positive: Foldable, size is great, extends very tall and is very stable. Downside: it's heavier than expected and would not be great for those traveling without a roller bag. I would recommend for those using heavy lights and need strong stable stand. If you're a traveling artist or someone that has to carry their equipment by hand, this might be too heavy.
