The KanexPro Audio De-Embedder with HDMI Video Output extracts the audio signal from an HDMI input and outputs it through a TOSLINK, Coax, or stereo output so the signal can independently be routed to a sound system. At the same time, all three signals of the HDMI input -- video, audio, and data -- get output through an HDMI output. The HDMI input supports resolutions up to 1080p/60 and computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1200.

Does it support HDMI Audio from a Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) source, outputting correctly to toslink (source such as Netflix or Google Play Movies coming in through Chromecast)? I've had trouble with my viewHD HDMI to toslink for center channel voice audio on the more recent movies that use DD+. No voice audio or center channel audio comes through the toslink.
The below links lists all of the formats supported by this unit for both HDMI input and the Toslink output. While a number of Dolby formats are supported, Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) is not on the list.http://bit.ly/1TLyRMB

This unit is platform neutral. It will work both PC or Mac. If there is an issue, check the settings on it or the computer.

Can I use w/out the HDMI out? Want to hook the HDMI in up to the "Mon2" HDMI out of my AVR to send to a second amp.
The HDMI output would not need to be used if you wanted to just de-embed audio with the KanexPro Audio De-Embedder with HDMI Video Output.

The KanexPro Audio De-Embedder with HDMI Video Output, will take in any appropriate video signal, up to 1080p, and allow a separation of the audio from that HDMI, while sending out the same video signal that was input.
