Nikon WR-A10 Overview

  • 1Description

Create an advanced wireless camera system with your Nikon DSLRs and Speedlights by picking up the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter. This unit connects to select DSLRs with a 10-pin connector and allows users to use the WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller, which functions as a transceiver to wirelessly trigger the shutter release or to control radio-capable Speedlights such as the SB-5000. When paired with the WR-R10 on select DSLRs users can operate one camera as a master to trigger multiple connected cameras at once from up to 164' away.

This system is compatible with the WR-1 and WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controllers for remote operation of all the cameras in the system. Also, three radio frequency channels are available to limit interference with other systems in the same location.

One optional WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller can be paired with an unlimited number of cameras with an optional WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller attached.
When used with the WR-R10 and connected to select Nikon cameras with a 10-pin connector, users can designate one camera as a master and control the shutter release of up to 64 WR-R10 units.
Range from a WR-R10 set as a master to other WR-R10 units is 164'.
When controlling Speedlights, up to 18 radio-capable units can be paired to a camera from a range of up to 98'.
Two link modes are available: PIN, which is designed for professional workflows, and Pairing for a simple connection.
Three radio frequency channels (5, 10, and 15) are available to prevent and limit interference with multiple pairings or other systems.
Can be used for triggering the shutter remotely when using slow shutter speeds to prevent camera movement.
Cameras: D5, D500, D850, D810A, D810, D4S, D800E, D800, D4, D3S, D3, D700, D3X, D300, D300S, D200, D2Xs, D2Hs

    Nikon WR-A10 Reviews

WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too Flimsy As a wedding photographer who has been using these for two full seasons I've been really disappointed that the SB5000 is totally dependent on this little flimsy piece of plastic. It is nice that you can shoot without having a flash attached to the body, but typically I'm using a flash attached and this dongle is constantly in danger of breaking. I coincidentally snapped two of these in the last two months but just catching them on my belt when pulling my camera off my shoulder. My advice... buy extras and store them in the bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read Comments Works great, EXCEPT... what you really need to know at time of purchase is that you actually have to order the WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller Transmitter AND the WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller AND the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter ALL TOGETHER to work with the D500.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does a good job BUT poor design The combination of the WR-T10/WR-A10/ WR-R10 performs well. The drawback is the flimsy design of the WR-R10 and WR-A10. A slight knock will break them. I feel these are not designed for "Professional" use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks Nikon. I have been using Nikon since 1973 and have loved it from day one. I purchased the WR-A10, WR-T10 and WR-R10 for my D810. Works like a charm but I cringe every time I buy a Nikon brand accessory because of the high cost of Nikon accessories. Crazy expensive but worth it, I guess.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Piece of junk So my first one of these literally fell completely apart. That Nikon charges this much for this piece of garbage is insane for whats inside. This is my first Nikon product I have to say I am extremely disappointed in. That I need this piece of junk to use my sb5000 off the the camera or use my remote shutter is a travesty of design. Prior to it completely falling apart it worked but is flimsy as heck. Its a joke that some of us are required to buy this adapter and deal with poor quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple but effective! It's a very simple object but very effective and simple to use. Fragile, don't hit it! Useful for night photography and long time exposure. There is three small parts in the whole kit, don't lose one of them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WR-A10 wireless Remote Adapter A little disappointed in Nikon but it's to be expected. I bought the pieces for my Nikon D 7100 but when I up graded to the D810 I found out I needed the WR-A10 I order to use the wireless remote. Now I have all the parts to run my new camera remotely. B&H has been great getting me the piece. The Post Office lost the first one they shipped but B&H was on top of it and shipped my replacement within two days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good thing This product is very good but unfortunately did not work for what I intended because it does not connect with the SB-910 Flash. I bought by mistake my without seeing which was the flash that was compatible with him but not by my bad luck when I received I went to experience in my Nikon D850. It worked very well on this machine but unfortunately it only synchronizes with the SB-5000 flash.

Can I use this with the Nikon 7100
    Asked by: Anonymous
No, this remote receiver is not compatible with the Nikon D7100. The D7100 does not have the required 10-pin connection to connect the system to. Below is a link to a similar type of remote control which will plug into the D7100s remote control port and will wirelessly trigger the flash via radio transmission. Seeh the link below for details:
