Does the dp006 have the ability to do basic effects like reverb?
In addition I have the Tascam DR- 07Mk2 that records equally well , of course dp- 006 edits the recordings and 07MK2 not, but both have very good audio quality

does it have A-B playback facility?
If you mean can you set point A as a starting Point, and point B as an ending point, then yes, you can do that and you do that particularly when creating a master track. If you are asking if it plays back in stereo, yes, either through headphones or run a cable from the headphone jack to a stereo.

can it record 6 microphone input channels simultaneously? I am particularly interested for using it for separation of instruments during a gig or for video production for dialog between multiple characters in an outdoor environment without an available power source.
Glo B,The DP-006 cannot accommodate 6 microphones.Based on your requirements, the DR-680mkII would be a more appropriate model to consider.
