I was a bit daunted by the number of options when purchasing my first set of binoculars, but after considerable research I settled on this pair and am quite happy with them.

I like these, and they seem similar to my Nikon Monarchs. Only complaints are that the diopter adjustment ring is incredibly stiff - the elderly relative I gifted these to could not move it. And the lower lens caps fall off.

My wife was shocked at how clear the display as compared to her 20 year old binoculars. Very nice.

I purchased these binoculars primarily for bird watching. I do not have much experience with binoculars besides inexpensive ones (under $50). These are a big step up. I have used them in my yard and the image is clear and bright. They are easy to focus and just about perfect weight wise. I would recommend these binoculars to others. They are a solid choice and B&H is an excellent vendor.

Highly recommend

Good field of view, clarity. A bit heavy, but nice. Easy to use. Adjusting the position of the 2 lenses is a bit sticky.

I've recently gotten into birding and received these as a Christmas present. I was immediately impressed with their quality. My wife tried them out and wanted a pair, so I bought one for her, and my parents were looking for some binoculars and got some too! All in all, 4 pairs of binoculars, 4 completely satisfied bird watchers. After almost a month worth of moderate use (3-5 days a week) they're still in perfect condition.

Compact, excellent view

An excellent pair of binoculars with great optics. Compact and easy to handle. The captive lens covers are an additional thoughtful touch.

They do not state a numeric value for the diopter. It is adjustable but just + or - with no numbers.

Would these binoculars survive if they are fully submerged?
Asked by: Aghy
It depends on depth and duration. It would probably survive a very brief and shallow dunking. But unless they rate it for immersion, you have to assume water would enter.

Why does it say "close-to-midrange observations"? Does it mean that it is not recommended for infinity focus (e.g. stars)?
Asked by: Arash
The Nature DX 8x42 binocular's near focus is 6.5 ft (2 m) which is ideal for bird watching. While it can focus at infinity and be used for stargazing, larger aperture binoculars with higher magnification would be better suited.
