    Impact Boom Arm Reviews

    Almost Great

I liked everything about the arm except how it sat on the standard Impact C-stand. Rather than it fully dropping down onto the stud and being able to tighten the lock screw, the screw unfortunately lines up right at the angled shelf part of the stud, so when it tightens down it lifts the entire unit up until the locking screw is sitting against the vertical part of the stud. This also means the entire weight of the book and its load is on that screw. The load should be sitting on the top of the stud where it should meet the bottom of the inside receiver of the boom. For this reason I returned it. Just felt wobbly and an odd force on that tiny screw.

This is the second one I've purchased, great to pair with a c-stand for hanging sound blankets. They've been working so well I'll probably buy a third soon.

The impact base boom does allow a end-user to remove the mount to be fine tune but we do not suggest doing so.

Does it come with a 5/8"-27 male threaded end for a microphone clip or an adapter for that?
    Asked by: Mark
No, the Impact Boom Arm would have a 5/8" stud for lighting. To allow for a microphone to fit, you can use the CAMVATE 5/8" Light Stand Head with 5/8"-27 Screw for Microphone Clip Stand, BH # CAC2950. http://bit.ly/3AlsoVd
