Does it come with a 5/8"-27 male threaded end for a microphone clip or an adapter for that?
Asked by: Mark
No, the Impact Boom Arm would have a 5/8" stud for lighting. To allow for a microphone to fit, you can use the CAMVATE 5/8" Light Stand Head with 5/8"-27 Screw for Microphone Clip Stand, BH # CAC2950. http://bit.ly/3AlsoVd

Suggested use shows this being used at only a short distance. When using at longer distances, would this be better used in a combo stand? Can you recommend one?
Asked by: Nathan
I've successfully used the arm extended with Alien Bee B-800s and light modifiers or with flags. I'm not sure what a combo stand is but I use mine on a C-stand with sand bags on the legs for stability. Also, you might be wise to use a counter weight hanging off the hook on the arm, depending on how heavy your attachment (e.g. light) is and how far the boom arm is extended. I use the kind of sandbags designed for that purpose. The boom is a good value: solidly built, easy to use and reliable.
