Gossen Digiflash 2 overview

  • 1Description

The Gossen Digiflash Light Meter 2 is ideal for photographers who seek optimal performance in a minimal form factor. This meter utilizes incident light measurement with integrated contrast measurement to indicate whether or not subject contrast - the difference between the brightest and darkest part of the subject, can be managed by the sensor or the film. As its name implies, the Digiflash Light Meter 2 also reads flash. The LCD screen reads out in both ISO and EV values.

    Gossen Digiflash 2 reviews

Digiflash Light Meter 2 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A reasonable product Very easy to use with one hand, small and compact. This meter is simple, but to the point that it actually has more features than it should. The two button interface does make moving through the timer, alarm, and temperature functions somewhat tedious if you find yourself taking readings between flash and ambient frequently. The lack of a flash sync port does make it more cumbersome to use than it could have been, but this simply means a two step flash metering method. Easy enough to achieve with your camera slung around your neck and a wireless flash controller with a test button. The price it is selling for in spring of 2014 is a little higher than I would have liked for the meter's useful functions, but still far better than other offerings on the market.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little meter I have an old LunaProF that was giving me inconsistent results. I loved the form factor and the ability to see lots of exposure combinations all at once - and the Digiflash fit that. Plus, it's tiny! Checking it against meters in my DLSR and mirrorless cameras, I found it was underexposing a tad from the factory. Took all of about 5 minutes to calibrate it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a small package for huge features! Wow, incident light meter, reflective light meter AND flash meter with such a small size. Perfect

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent meter Bought this for its size. Tiny! But I tend to prefer working with the Gossen Luna Pro I bought used from B&H as it allows more easily integration of filter correction factors for a direct reading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Light Meter It is not very big. Actually, quite light weight. Idea for my needs. I own two other larger meters, a Minolta IV and a Pentax digital spot. I wanted a small meter to carry with my Rolleiflex. The Gossen is well made. Nice tactile touch to the dial and buttons. Accurate readings. Don't think you can be hard on it. You have to keep it on its lanyard and don't drop it. Not likely to survive too many falls. But I'm fine with that. I'm not hard my equipment. Personally, what l like about this meter is it displays in EVs like the Pentax spot meter. Super easy to use. The analogue dial to set s/s and aperture works well with my old school style. It's great, you can see all camera settings at a glance. It's not a $1000 meter, but does a great job for the price. So don't think it's feature packed. It does not. It just does what it is supposed to, very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smaller than I imagined! This meter disappears in my hand. I hadn't realised how diminutive it is. Since this is my first ever meter other than those built in to my cameras, i had been a little hesitant about the hassle. No longer!
