7.1 USB Audio Adapter External Sound Card is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound, drivers required One nice thing about newer versions of Windows is that you can often install a piece of hardware and just get started. Not so with this device. I plugged it in, and Windows 10 recognized it, and even let me select it, but no sound came out. Not sure at this point if I rebooted and tried again. I may have. If you try this and get no sound, don't worry. Follow the link in the book and download the latest version of the software from their website. (I never recommend using the included CDs if you don't have to.) The driver, or the file structure of the driver folders, may indicate Windows 8, but it is Windows 10-compatible. I did this, and then was able to get full surround sound. I may have had to reboot at this point. The manual and the driver folder structure were just a little misleading, and the fact of plugging it in and it looking as though it would work when it didn't, are the only reasons this item loses a star. Once properly installed it's worked like a charm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great The onboard sound system in my computer started making lots of errors after I recently upgraded Windows 10 to the Anniversary Update. This USB external sound card makes no Windows 10 errors and makes everything sound better compared to what I had before. Easy to install and the software gives lots of control. As usual, B and H's prices, service, and support can't be beat: I always look here when purchasing online to see if what I need is available here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For an obviously outdated product it is too expensive. I'm running Windows 10 pro and I run into problems as soon as I tried to install the driver from the included CD. The error message stated that this platform is not supported. I searched for a driver on the Internet and installed the one I found instead of using the CD. In sound settings I had to enable the device and now it works like promised

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What We Need! We bought this so we could plug in our sound system (record player, tape player) and make copies of our records and tape onto cd's for personal use in our cars. We have a laptop with USB, but no input. with a mixer in between, we can go straight into Audacity and record our music! It is exactly what we need!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from StarTech External Audio Card Recently purchased this item to help in my DJing of old Tango Music. I use this thru my laptop using USB which is connected to the sound system mixer. Most of the really degraded sound is somewhat cleared up and improved the overall broadcasted sound. For the $$$ well worth buying this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice little unit... When my onboard sound card drivers were knocked by a software upgrade. This unit serves me very well. Installation was a snap, sound quality is fantastic. Worth the cost.
