I bought this years ago, and am trying to install to a laptop, running Windows 10. Software downloaded is not running, it remained at 0%. I bought the drive in HK, and now trying to install it in the US. Please help with recommended software for installation.

Does this drive burn dual layer DVD's? Documentation says it does, but so far I haven't had any success even with trying varying media brands. OS X 10.11.2 mac mini 2014.

With the exception of M-Disk, this drive supports Dual Layer DVDs. (DVD+/- R DL)

Does this drive read AND write CDs/DVDs? I want it for my Microsoft Surface Pro, specifically to read music into ITunes. Does it need any specific program to make it read/write?

It will read CDs & DVDs but will only write to DVDs. I use it on a Mac which does not require a specific program to operate it.
