Lowepro 350 AW overview

  • 1Description

The slate grey Transit Backpack 350 AW from Lowepro is versatile travel bag made of weather-resistant 600D polyester. It can accommodate a DSLR with a 70-200mm f/2.8 or a 300mm f/2.8 lens attached, two additional lenses, a flash and accessories, including a compact tripod. There is also a dedicated compartment at the back of the backpack that will accommodate most 15" laptops.

The modular UltraFlex internal divider system allows you to choose one of two compartment configurations for your photo gear in the bag. The first is the dual compartment option featuring a separate top area and a main camera area with quick side-access to your DSLR with a 70-200mm sized lens attached.

The second configuration can be created by opening the zipper on the front flap all the way around. The top compartment has a red tab on the bottom that can be pulled up to separate the hook and loop field and pushed down to combine the two compartments and create a more spacious main compartment in the bag. Pushing down the tab also reveals a padded holder that is contoured to support your DSLR when a 300mm f/2.8 lens is attached. The rest of your gear can be arranged using the padded dividers in the remaining space next to the attached lens.

For storing smaller items, the Transit Backpack has a hidden passport pocket on the outside of the front flap and a zippered accessory pocket with a key chain strap on the inside. There are two open mesh pockets along the back inside the top compartment. For carrying the bag, you can use the backpack straps as well as the nylon webbed grab handle at the top of the bag.

Laptops from different brands vary in size, please verify that the dimensions of your model will fit inside the laptop compartment
Hideaway tripod mount secures a compact tripod to side of backpack using a pull-out tripod cup and nylon strap with quick-release buckle
Included all-weather cover hidden at bottom front of bag can keep gear dry in rain or snow
SlipLock attachment loops allow optional pouches to be secured to sides of bag
Retractable waist and sternum straps add support when wearing the bag and can be tucked away when not in use

    Lowepro 350 AW reviews

Transit Backpack 350 AW (Slate Grey) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 83.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practical & Handy Backpack Very well padded bag (backpack) for daily carry-ons w/chest & waist-strap: will fit comfortably the Nikon D4 WITH attached Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VRII, Speedlight SB-910; Nikon ME-1 Stereo Microphone; Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 ED VR lens plus accessories. Very comfortable backpack for long tracks. Will carry tripod as it has a footer and straps. Side ease-of-access NOT for Nikon D4. Has zippered back-pocket for a 13 MacBook Pro, plus front pocket for a notepad. Have searched long time buying/returning several bags/backpacks from different manufacturers and found this outstanding one! Do recommend highly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slick Backpack This thing is quite customizable, the pictures speak for themselves. It's stylish, I love the side access (a previous favorite on my old Slingshot 200) But compared to my old Slingshot the ability to open backpack style is now preferred to me personally. I don't have to keep my 70-200 off body if I don't want to anymore! I have three nit-picky qualms with this bag; the way the zipper dips down over the top feels a little clunky sometimes, I wish the little front zipper pouch was microfiber lined to protect a cellphone or sunglasses, and I do miss the built in microfiber cloth that my Slingshot had. Other than that I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bag this bag is larger than i expected but none the less it is another great bag from lowpro, this bag will hold my nikon D5100, 18-55, 70-300,28-90, and all my filters and accesories no problem, and there is lots of extra room, it could easily cary 2-3 more lenses or an extra body no problem. i will say that i would have liked to have my side access on the right, not the left side of the bag, and when using the side access I have a hard time confguring the bag to securely hold my camera(it tends to shift around in all that extra space) but none the less the bag is a good one P.S. i live in a rather rainy area, and i can personaly say the rain cover works great and is easy to get to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect for me So far I'm very pleased with this pack. I have a D5100 and three lenses (largest is a 200mm), plus a tripod and various accessories. I can fit all of it in this bag with room to spare. I also use it to carry my 15 laptop with charger and a set of 8x42 binoculars on a regular basis without issue. The only 'complaint' I have is that the side opening to access the camera itself doesn't fit close enough to the camera body to keep it from tipping toward the opening, and I haven't found a way to rearrange the padding to make it fit snugly. I haven't dropped anything because of this, but I can see how it might be a risk for those of us with more compact cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, confortable backpack I bought this backpack two weeks ago, just before going on a 7 days cruise. I have taken about 2000 photos so far while using it, and it is amazing. Very confortable and solid, all the equipment is protected (D3200, 18-55mm, 55-300mm, 50mm 1.4), and I still have room for my filters, iPad, and other accesories (I believe it can afford up to 5/6 lenses or flashes). Perhaps the camera comparment is too big for my D3200, but I managed to reduce it and now fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is no ONE BAG, but this is close I loaded this thing up with my D800, 70-200 2.8, 14-24 2.8, and 24-70 2.8 along with an SB-900 and various cords, eyeglasses, a wallet, phone, etc., and while it got heavy, I had everything I needed for my recent trip. Having the tripod holder on board was super helpful too. I would like a phone holder on the backpack strap and some small external pockets, though. Again, sometimes it's nice to carry a small bag with a lens or two, or maybe the camera itself, but I'm a relatively young guy from the old school, and nothing now (or possibly ever??) will take the place of a full-frame DSLR and full kit. This bag will hold everything you need to get the shot. If you can hold it, it can haul it. The shot is on you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this backpack! I was worried this bag wouldn't be large enough to carry my stuff. It easily carries: one DSLR with a 24-105 lens attached, 2 wide angle lenses, 2 flashes, transmitter & receivers, several extra cords & cables. The area in the top holds lots of batteries, my extra memory cards, my neck strap, and color cards. I also love the side zipper access to quickly get to my DSLR without having to set the backpack down if the ground is muddy or wet. It's comfy to wear even when heavy (I'm a 105-lb. woman). I can't see ever needing a different bag. This one is perfect.
