The Impact Convertible Boom Arm/Light Stand is a triple-duty support that can serve as a 13' light stand or as an overhead boom capable of supporting a small light head, such as the included fluorescent fixture, at an extension of almost 3 feet from the center of the stand. Alternately, you can bounce the light off of a reflector or pump it through diffusers up to 60" by supporting them with the stand's spring clips.

The Single-Socket Fluorescent Fixture comes with a compact fluorescent lamp with a daylight-balanced color temperature of 5000K. The fixture's bracket tilts and locks into position and features a standard 5/8" receiver that mounts on any 5/8" stud or accessory.

Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder (13')

The Impact Convertible Boom Arm/Light Stand can support a small or medium light head to a height of 13'. Raise the second section completely, click, and it is a boom stand. As a boom, it can hold a small light head to an extension of almost 3' from the center of the stand.

It is a reflector holder by means of its two clips, which can support an Impact, Flexfill, or Photoflex light disc as large as 60".
A hole at the end of the arm allows an optional counterweight to be hung, for greater stability.

Using as a Boom Stand

Parts Don’t Match

I Bought This Specifically To Use For Food Photography. I Thought The Way In Which The Stand Could Go Parallel With The Table Was Exactly What I Needed — And What I Bought It For. I Have Spent Hours Now, Scouring The Manual, The Internet, My Peers, To Try To Find Out How To Get The Stand To Do Its Job. No Matter What I Do I Cannot Get This Stand To Pivot To Be Parallel To The Table. So I Feel As Though I Bought This For Nothing! Very Frustrating. As I Try To Refer To The Instructions, It Does Not Give Any Information On How To Set Up The Fixture. And It Even Uses Different Parts In The Instructions That Did Not Come With The Box. Infuriating.

Perfect!!

It's as good as natural light, allowing us to run our business at anytime of the day or night. Initially, we thought we needed more - maybe accessories or a brighter bulb, but Nope, it's perfect!

question

I recently purchased this kit and the fixture doesn't seem to seat correctly onto the light stand stud. Is there any special adapter needed for this kit out of the box? It seems as though the hole on the fixture is too shallow, so when I start to tighten the locking nut, the fixture tilts about 20 degrees. I can get it to safely fit snugly, it's just at a weird angle making top down light difficult. Any advise/ suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Novice To Lights

Hi, the fixture pushes about 1 1/2 inches into the light stand stud. The bottom of the neck of the fixture should be touching the bottom of the stud ( the silver shiny part ) then tighten it with the locking nut. It should not tilt whatsoever. Make sure it's all the way in before you tighten the fixture. Otherwise you may have either a defective stand or light fixture. Hope this helps!
