The ikan MK350 Spectrometer from UPRTek is a lightweight, compact, self-contained Spectrometer that measures the output of LED light sources and gives readings in Lux, Color Rendition Index (CRI), color temperature, and peak wavelength. The meter will read and measure visible light, but it is designed for LED lights and may not be as accurate when use to measure non-LED sources. The meter records, analyzes, and displays the readings without needing to connect to a computer. This makes taking light readings for brightness, CRI, and color temperature a quick process that you can easily carry out in the field or on location. You can use the meter to check the color temperature of different light units and get an objective reading of the light itself.
The meter weighs in at a little bit more than half a pound, making it very easy to carry around all day. The display is a 3.5" touch panel LCD that features four display modes of Basic, Spectrum, CIE 1931, and CIE 1976. You can select from one time or continuous reading functions, and the MK350 stores the data on SD cards in XLS format. You can also save the display as a .bmp image. You can transfer your data to a computer from the SD card or connect the meter to a computer and transfer via USB 2.0. The included rechargeable Li-ion battery runs for 5 hours on a charge.
Basic: Displays a numerical readout of color temperature, CRI, Lux, and the peak or brightest wavelength in the light
Spectrum: Provides a graphic display of the wavelengths of the light you are measuring
CIE 1931: Graphically displays the measurement of the light on a CIE 1931 scale
CIE 1976: Graphically displays the measurement of the light on a CIE 1976 scale
