The Dot Line IR Flash Trigger Hot Shoe Adapter for Sony/Minolta Shoe with "A" style shoe is actually 2 products in one. It's got a cold shoe that slips into a standard metal shoe (like one that you'd find on a camera bracket) with a female PC connection on the side that uses an optional cord from the shoe to the camera's PC outlet to fire your flash. Alternatively, a 1/4"-20 tap on the bottom of the shoe allows you to mount it to a light stand or other support. The IR sensor in this unit will recognize a flash built into a typical DSLR up to 70 feet away and trigger the flash that is connected to the shoe.
