Been using Glyph Black Box Mobile HDs for a number of years and have been pleased with their reliability. They are small, sleek and quiet. The only disconcerting issue is that there is no on off switch and they do not always seem to power down until they are disconnected from the computer.

Overall I am quite pleased with this hard drive so far. The body is solidly built, and it has a pleasing weight to it. The color is nice too. I use it for my Xbox One, and there have been no problems.

Using this drive with an older Imac (Yosemite). I believe the USB ports are 3.0, they are not flat like the USB-C. Compatible?

how does this differ from a glyph 1tb studio mini mobile hard drive?

The Black Box model has only a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and spins @ 5400 rpm. The Studio Mini has, USB 3.0, Firewire 800 and eSATA interfaces and spins along @ 7200 rpm. So the Studio mini is the better choice for medium-to-heavy video editing and the Black Box is better suited for general storage. That said, I have edited hi-res footage (Avid DNxHD145) with the Black Box and had no issues whatsoever. But I might have just gotten lucky, too.
