The built-in tripod collar improves balance and reduces pressure on the lens mount when shooting with long lenses because it attaches directly to the lens. The ring design and thumbscrews make rotating your lens easier and vertical alignment marks help when changing the orientation from horizontal to vertical. With the included bushing, either a 3/8" or a 1/4" tripod mount can be used.
