TASCAM TH-02 Overview

The black TH-02 Studio Headphones from TASCAM are designed to deliver studio-quality audio for a wide variety of studio and music listening applications.

These closed-back headphones feature powerful, 50mm drivers that are set at 32 ohm impedance. This design aims to deliver a balanced, accurate response whether you're cutting tracks in the studio, or listening to music on your mobile device.

Engineered for comfort as well as sound quality, the TH-02 headphones feature padded headband and ear pads. Built with easy transport and storage in mind as well, the TH-02 headphones feature a collapsible, foldable design.

Very Uncomfortable but Decent Sounding Headphone

The Tascam TH-02 are not an excellent pair of headphones. They are definitely uncomfortable, not painful but much worse than what I'm used to which is Audio Technica ATH-M50x. I bought these for tracking with microphones. I didn't do any mixing on them, opting just to use them as reference monitors. They sound pretty good but, with literally any other option that's higher quality, you'll be better off. For the money they're pretty good though. Naturally you are spending much less than a higher quality headphone and you very much get what you pay for. I would not buy these again if they broke. Their inherent value is too limited and I think I learned my lesson cheaping out.

The headphones are a bit too big for my head (now I'm thinking my head is too small :/ ) and there is no option to push in the sides (aka ear things) any extra. That's just a design issue I cannot do anything about. I like that they are over the ear version though. The sound is good. Not noise cancelling (if anyone thought so) but it gives crisp sound. I have yet to test with any Studio instruments but YouTube music streaming through my computer is good. The price is decent so I will keep and use them nonetheless. Thank you Tascam and BHphotovideo.

I got these for a church to monitor their livestreams and they work fine. Wouldn't recommend them for mixing, and they're not the most comfortable for my head (the earpads hit at an angle so all the pressure is in one spot) but they get the job done.

Good sound but with physical faults...maybe

The sound is flat, as a monitoring set these are not designed for music listening. Size of the ear muffs is good, I would consider these to be average and would fit most ears. Overall size is not for a bald person with an average head, as they fit big and tend to droop down, or at least for me. With a hat or beanie, these work perfectly!

I plugged the headphones in to my integrated amplifier spun a tune, and Wow what a difference the Tascam headphones make, and such a deal, I bought two pairs for the studio, nice very very nice. Thomas Limon

Do the ear cups swivel in either direction ? Are they true over the entire ear or do they sit on the ear ? And would a hard of hearing person be able to hear with this model ?

The ear cups on the Tascam TH-02 do not swivel but they do enclose the entire ear. The closed-back design helps to cut down ambient sounds and background noise. It is difficult to say whether or not these particular headphones would work well for someone who is hearing impaired. If they wear hearing aids that fit behind the ear, the speakers will need to be approximately 1 centimeter from the hearing aid to avoid problems with feedback. They should be OK for someone who wears hearing aids that fit inside the ear canal. The best way to determine whether any headphones will be suitable for someone whether or not they are hearing impaired would be for the person to test them to make sure they sound good and are comfortable to wear. Headphones with 50mm drivers will typically fit over the ears of most users. B&H does offer a 30-day return policy, so you can try out the headphones and they are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase if they don't work out well.
