When fully extended, what is the measurement ...

When fully extended, what is the measurement between the knuckle (or post of the stand) and the tip of the 5/8 pin?
Asked by: Tyler
The knuckle on the Matthews Mini Matth Boom—Black does not have a specific position on the boom. It slides from one end to the other so you can balance the boom. If you center it, the knuckle will be about 3.5 feet from the front of the boom.

What stand would be a good match for this boom? For something like the aputure 80c.
Asked by: brennish
The Impact Turtle Base C-Stand (10.75', Black), BH #IMLSCT40MB, would be a good stand for the Matthews Mini Matth Boom - Black, BH #MABMMB, with an Aputure STORM 80c BLAIR-CG LED Monolight (US), attached to it. https://bhpho.to/3ZDjkYr

Is this strong enough to support an overhead shot setup for a DSLR?
Asked by: Theresa
The Matthews Mini Matth Boom - Black supports up to 8.8 lb. If your camera and lens combined are under that it is fine. Note, you will need a counter weight and a stand that supports the weight of the boom and camera combined.

Does the knurled 5/8 pin provide enough grip to hold a strobe + softbox at an angle, say the usual 45 degrees? Or will it slip under its own weight?
Asked by: Ivo
Yes it does. The key is not the knurled section of the 5/8 pin but the knob on the strobe head and the strength of the person tightening it. I use this with a strobe head and metal 22" beauty dish and grid that is fairly heavy. There is no slippage when the strobe head is tightened well.
