The Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter Arri PL to Canon EF allows you to use select Arri PL mounted lenses to fit on a camera body with a Canon EF mount, allowing you to use your existing PL mount lenses with newer cameras that feature the Canon EF mount. This is a lens mount adapter designed to attach to the lens itself, it is not meant to permanently adapt the mount of the camera. The adapter mounts to the lens and is removable, so you can use one adapter on many different PL mounted lenses.

This adapter is designed to prevent you from mounting it onto a lens that extends greater then 14mm from the rear of the mount. This is to prevent the adapted lens from causing damage to the camera and the lens itself. However, the adapter may fit on some lenses that extend greater than 14mm, so before using any lens with this adapter on a camera with a Canon EF mount, confirm that the lens has proper clearance throughout the focus range. The adapter has been tested to work on a Canon camera with EF mount with the following lenses. Please note although other lenses may work with this adapter, only the lenses below have been tested for proper operation.

Canon 20-35mm T4
Ruby 14-24mm T2.8
Angenieux Optimo 15-40 mm T 2.6

Nikkor Micro 200 mm T4
Canon Century Optics S2000 150-600mm

The adapter maintains the correct flange focal distance, and this means that you don't have to worry about the your lenses focus shifting due to the adapter. Infinity is maintained. Featuring Brass construction with a stainless steel finish, this adapter is a strong, durable unit. A built-in tripod support foot features a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole so you can attach a tripod or monopod to the adapter, limiting the amount of stress you put on the camera's mount. There is no electronic control of the lens through the adapter, so you need to use a lens that has manual focus and iris capabilities. However, the adapter allows TTL (Through-the-lens) metering, and when using a lens with the adapter, the camera body should be set to either manual exposure or aperture priority mode.

Maintains correct flange depth between lens and image plane.
Infinity remains unchanged, so the lens does not need to be re-collimated or shimmed.
Brass construction protects lens mount, stainless steel finish makes the adapter corrosion and wear resistant.
Some PL mount lenses can damage the camera or the lens when mounted to a camera with an EF mount using this adapter. This is unavoidable if the adapter is to maintain the correct flange focal distance, and you should confirm and test that any lens used with this adapter maintains the necessary clearance throughout the focus range.

Pro Lens Mount Adapter Arri PL to Canon EF is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with PL mount CP2s I bought this with the idea to mount PL CP2s on to my EF Blackmagic 4k. The mount fits on to the camera just fine, and the flange depth is right for the short base PL mount lenses, but the shape of the Fotodiox is totally wrong for all the short base PL lenses I tried, including the CP2 kit. The fit inside the Fotodiox caters for a tapered lens base, while the short base CP2s are straight. Think of a square peg, round hole kind of effect. Not fit for purpose, so I returned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For Select Lens's First Im using a converted Nikor 300 and 400mm lens to PL mount so I knew I was taking a risk with this adapter. Didn't fit my lens so I had to return. Also noticed in the process that the tripod mount gets in the way if your using a Zacuto Eyepiece. It is removable though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works on angenieux anamorphic zooms Works on all angenieux zoom lenses in fact. I'm really pleased with it. Needed to take away the support from it to make it fit with the ursa mini. But with zoom lenses like the angenieux there is always rod support that holds the lenses.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Not Work Tried with Leica Summicron-C and Cooke miniS4i. Do not purchase this as the base mount of modern PL lenses is not compatible with the opening on the adapter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Limited but good PL to EOS solution The adapter works as advertised, and as advertised, it is rather limited as to which lenses it is compatible with. I can add the Canon 30-105 Cine Zoom to the growing list, but the adapter did not work with my Xeen 24mm or Duclos 11-16mm Tokina. Those two lenses have extended rear housings that this adapter does not accommodate. However, the Canon Cine Zoom fit well and held focus while testing it on a Panasonic AU-EVA1 EF mount. The adapter should allow me to use my Cine Zzoom on any EF mount in the future. The adapter has a solid build to it. I used it unsupported but would support the Cine Zoom long term with a lens bridge. As with my other Fotodiox adatper I had to remove the adapter support to clear the camera body, but that is an easy task removing two screws. I recommend this adapter so long as you have a lens with shallow rear housing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very handy. This is a great tool to have in your kit if you want to put PL mount lenses on your Canon EF mount body. Granted it is limited to certain PL mount lenses that have shallower rear element protrusions. One thing I love about this adapter is the 1/4 20 threaded support. Many EF mounts aren't strong enough to handle the weight of PL mount cine lenses. The ability of this adapter to support the lens is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit canon cine zooms Only took stars off because it doesn't fit the Canon Cine 15.5-47mm Cine Zoom Lens which at first glance it seems like it would. I was looking for a cheap way to convert from PL to EF on the fly and this is not it. Well machined, and works well on other lenses, but not all (as they mention in the description). Worth trying out if you think it might work for you though.
