This Pro Lens Adapter from Fotodiox enables the use of your Minolta MC/MD lenses on Pentax K mount SLR and DSLR cameras. It features a durable brass construction with stainless steel finish and a leaf spring ensures a secure connection between the lens and adapter. Additionally, through the use of a 1.4x multi-coated focus correction lens, this adapter is designed to maintain infinity focus. This manual adapter does not maintain automatic lens control between the camera and lens; aperture priority or manual shooting modes should be used, as well as stop-down metering for exposure control.

My Rokkor 58mm, 1.4 focuses fine out to infinity. Although its aperture no longer stops down I can still use it wide open. All of my other Minolta mounts are on Vivitar lenses and they all work. My K3 allows me to set the focal length recognition manually (not sure if that matters). All else is done in Aperture Priority mode. The default exposure can be adjusted with EV Compensation button. So far it works as advertised.

Seems sturdy; some lenses won't physically focus.

This is a sturdy and well-functioning thing, but it doesn't suit all my lenses. For example, my old MC Rokkor-PF 55mm f1.7 that I used to shoot with back in High School won't focus to infinity: only to about 10-15 feet. I'm sure that theoretically the optics of the adapter would support infinity focus, but physically the rear lens element (which moves back as you focus to infinity) bumps into the corrective magnifier. It might work if I remove the magnifier, but then it won't focus to infinity in the same way an extension tube doesn't allow focus to infinity. Again, it seems sturdy and well put-together, and works with some of my lenses. Can't really fault it in that sense, and I do enjoy extension-tube macro photography, so I'm glad to have it. But depending on how far the rear element of your old Minolta lens sticks out, this converter might not support the full focus throw.
