Overall, this tripod offers many features usually only found on more expensive models. The two-way fluid head provides smooth operation, and features a half-ball mount with a diameter of 65mm, with left and right pan bar mounts. It comes supplied with one pan bar. The VT-4000 also has separate pan and tilt locks, and a bubble level for precision leveling. The fixed counter-balance spring incorporated in the head will help with smoother tilt movements.

Its provided quick release plate features a standard 1/4"-20 mounting screw with a video pin, and has a sliding range of +20/-25mm - to enable travel capabilities - essential in balancing uneven configurations. The head's tilt angle is adjustable from +90° to -60°.

  • Magnus DWF-2 Universal Tripod Dolly

The Magnus DWF-2 Universal Tripod Dolly presents a simple, affordable way to put your tripod on wheels. The dolly features 2" ball-bearing metal/rubber wheels that feature revolving assemblies. That means you can steer your tripod along any line imaginable to capture a smooth tracking shot.

The DWF-2 dolly bears loads up to 33 lb and features adjustable clamps to lock just about any size of tripod foot into place securely. Mounting a tripod is easy: Just line up each tripod foot and twist the thumb screws to tighten each clamp.

Each leg bar extends up to 4.9" to accommodate tripods of various dimensions, and flip locks secure the extension. Fully extended, the dolly has a doorway width of 31". With step-on locks for each wheel, you can easily transform your rolling tripod into a sturdy lock-down mount for your camera.

Two of the legs fold down to create a compact package for transport – the dolly folds down to just 17 x 5".

Step on the wheel locks to brake the spinning of the wheels and the rotation of the wheel assemblies

Magnus VT-4000 reviews

VT-4000 Video Tripod System & Universal Tripod Dolly Kit is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tripod - YES, Dolly - not quite This is the first decent video tripod I have owned, and such a great price. It is heavy, but solid as a rock, mostly nice smooth tilts and pans, with no flexing or feedback at start or end movements, but variable friction would be nice (a twist-lock with little range is all you get). The semi-ball mount makes leveling the cam very quick and accurate, much better than messing with legs. I will look for this feature from now on. Other reviewers of the tripod complained about the secureness of the quick-lock legs, but mine came with a wrench and instructions for adjustment. My best use has been for recording concerts and dramatic productions from a SEATED position, with a Libec LANC attached to the handle, just a little reach-up to pan/tilt/zoom. I may look into an HD monitor now so I don't crane my neck for the LCD screen. The dolly in the kit has only been useful for gaining a few inches of height (wheels locked) nothing more. The wheels are very small and hard rubber. You could not do any sort of dolly shot with this on other than perfectly smooth flooring. Even textured vinyl/linoleum or wood-floor joints would be a shaky problem. You could probably use it to quickly relocate positions, but again, the small wheels might trip on anything higher than grout-lines, so I would probably feel better lifting the whole thing and carrying to the next position. I rarely bring it to jobs any more unless I know how I will use it. Summary then... Tripod, 5*. Dolly, 3*.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy setup, Very Stable This is not a TV production tripod but a high quality consumer level tripod. The fluid head is very smooth but there is no control to set resistance level. If you're using this for sports applications at close range, though I have not done so, you'll probably find yourself fighting against the fluid head. This will work perfectly for our church streaming manned camera station. The main reason I gave four stars and not five primarily is because the dolly does not allow full extension of the tripod legs. If you extend the tripod legs to full length, you will not be able to spread the legs out completely, which will negatively impact the stability of the tripod. We mounted our JVC-620, which is a bit over 5 lbs., to it and found that if we tried to move around too much, it would be liable to tip. I would recommend a weighted bag if you were to attempt this, though that still would not be a fail safe solution. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase, as the application for our use is well within the abilities of this system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay for the price We use it to hold up a teleprompter tht we do NOT shoot through (Ikan elite ipad) and it does that job well. I agree with previous reviewer, though, that the dolly part of this is not much. I don't think we could use it do camera support with movement on this dolly. We will use it for solid camera support on its own, though. It is a pretty nice piece for the price. Bottom line: good value, if not great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tripod for the money! Everything I've wanted in a video camera tripod mount. Very sturdy, robust, and reliable. Do note that when the tripod is put on the dolly, the tripod legs cannot fully extend, but that hasn't been an inconvenience so far.
