Logitech, a mainstay in computer peripherals, offers a full catalog of accessories that will help you get the most out of your Chromebook. From wireless keyboards to pro-caliber webcams, if there’s a Chromebook accessory you need, odds are Logitech makes it. Here are some of our favorite Chromebook-enabled accessories from Logitech.
Wireless Keyboard: Logitech K580, K585, & MK470 Combo
The Logitech K580 Keyboard was made for Google's Pixelbook line of laptops, complete with a “Made for Google” badge to prove it. It has a full number pad with 101 keys in total with a familiar top row of browser- and system-control keys, plus dedicated Google Assistant and search/menu buttons. It also has a built-in, trough-style stand for a smartphone, along with dedicated keys for switching between devices. The K580 is also pretty small―it’s .75 inches thick and measures about 14.7 by 5.7 inches. Despite its smaller size, it feels great to type on its low-profile keys and makes for an excellent travel-sized keyboard for Chromebook or mobile devices.
If the K580 doesn’t quite fit your needs, some alternative options from Logitech that are worth taking a look at for Chromebook users are the K585 Slim Multi-Device Keyboard or the MK470 Slim Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo. The K585 features a whopping 24-month battery life compared to the MK470’s 18 month one thanks to its auto-sleep feature that helps preserve battery life. Both keyboards are available in a Rose colorway or in a more traditional Black for the MK470 or Graphite option for the K585. They also both boast a quiet, laptop-like typing experience with low-profile scissor-switch keys.
USB Mic: Blue Yeti
Logitech knew what it was doing when it acquired Blue, in 2018, and there's a reason the Blue Yeti is the quintessential mic when you’re first looking into the world of streaming mics. It’s one of the easiest with which to obtain usable results and while it won't get you pro studio results, the Yeti sports additions such as a headphone output, four pickup patterns, and a sturdy metal stand. It’s a great mic option for new Chromebook users who might be looking to enter the world of podcasting or streaming and need a plug-and-play USB microphone with reliable performance. Its ubiquitous for a reason―those looking to get good-sounding content without a steep learning curve or need for a complex setup need look no further than this mic.
Webcam: Logitech C920S
The C920S HD Pro, from Logitech, is a webcam that checks all the right boxes for virtually anyone in need of one. It captures sharp 1080p video at 30 fps with speedy autofocus and excellent image quality. Skin tones look natural, thanks to the auto white balancing and it’s also extremely easy to set up. It sits on top of your screen via a folding base that is also sturdy enough to allow the camera to sit on a desk by itself. It even has a built-in privacy shutter, which is always a welcome addition. The C920s is one of the best webcams to buy, despite being the least expensive of Logitech’s higher-end webcams and its no-frills design.
Bluetooth Speaker: Logitech Z407
The Logitech Z407 40W RMS Bluetooth Speaker System is a powerful and versatile speaker system that delivers rich, immersive sound for a wide range of audio content. Sleek and minimal, its compact form factor blends into your workspace. The system includes dual 10-watt satellite speakers with roughly 2.3-inch drivers and a 20-watt subwoofer, which work together to provide a wide frequency range and deep, thumping bass. The speakers are equipped with Bluetooth, so you can stream audio wirelessly from any compatible device, such as a smartphone or laptop, but also features micro USB and 3.5mm connectivity. In addition, the system comes with a convenient remote control, so you can easily adjust the volume, skip tracks, and more, from the comfort of your couch. It is, overall, a great budget-friendly speaker system with sound surprisingly impressive for its size and price point and in an all-black minimalist package.
