Xvive Announces Expandable USB Hub, Audio Tester, and Portable 32-Bit Recorder for NAMM

Xvive is announcing several new products for this year’s NAMM show. Whether you’re looking for a versatile new portable stereo recorder, a new expandable solution for your audio interface duties, or a handy utility for maintaining your audio equipment, Xvive has a little something for everyone this year.

First up is Xvive’s most unique new announcement: MORE YOU HUB, the first-ever expandable USB audio interface. Part of a complete system simply called MORE YOU, the hub acts as the core of this system and provides two inputs for your DAW (XLR-1/4” combo) and two outputs each for headphones (1/4” and 3.5mm) and monitors (1/4” TRS). With True Gain mic preamps, you get 60 dB of gain in 1 dB steps for precise gain staging and recall. These preamps also provide +48V phantom power (selectable per input), phase reversal, and a high-pass filter for each input.

The MORE YOU HUB connects to your DAW via USB-C for recording. It can send back signals processed with FX in real time via the MORE port, allowing you to monitor your sounds with your plug-ins slapped on.

The unit sports features such as an LCD screen for monitoring audio levels, power via USB, audio, talkback, and power daisy chaining via standard XLR cables, auto-gain functionality selectable per channel, and a custom clip which you can use to mount the HUB on a mic stand for easy access. With ADAT support, you can also bring in 8-channel optical audio.

The MORE YOU HUB is fully expandable, either via additional MORE YOU HUBs or the MORE YOU 2X, an expansion unit for the system which requires the HUB to function. This expansion module features two extra XLR-1/4” combo inputs, a headphone output, and XLR I/O for connecting to the HUB and/or chaining off to another 2X expander or HUB. By combining eight HUBs or one HUB and seven 2Xs, you can get up to 24 inputs and 20 outputs, letting you cater your interface setups precisely to your needs.

Next up is the XV1-R, a portable stereo field recorder with 32-bit floating point for massive dynamic range. Slim and compact, this recorder can easily fit in your pocket while providing a wide variety of useful features.

The XV1-R supports 24-bit or 32-bit float internal WAV capture at up to 96 kHz. Lossy formats like AAC-LC and HE-AAC are also available. With a USB-C port, you can not only exchange data from the recorder but also use it as an audio interface.

Along with the integrated stereo condenser mics, the XV1-R sports a 3.5mm mic/line input jack and a 3.5mm line output jack with dedicated volume control. The recorder can capture audio up to a high max SPL of 130 dB and records directly to SD, SDHC, and SDVC cards up to 128 GB.

The device runs on two standard AA alkaline, 1.5V lithium, or NiMH rechargeable batteries, with USB power also being an alternative option. With alkaline batteries you can get about 12 hours of operation, depending on the conditions of use.

Extra features worth mentioning include a slate tone generator for filmmaking use with cameras, playback speed control, auto-record and pre-record, a low-cut filter, a limiter, a noise gate, file markers, and overdubbing.

Finally, we have the AT-1, a portable audio tester for ensuring your cables and gear are always up to the gig. Versatile and compact, this in-line device offers detection features and provides five main functions.

A signal generator can be used to emit 1 kHz sine wave tones or pink-noise audio signals through XLR male, ¼”, and 3.5mm connectors and offers three output level options: -10, -20, and -40 dB. The second function is an XLR cable tester, which tests whether all three pins of a standard XLR audio cable are functioning properly.

Additionally, there is an XLR input meter, which measures the input volume level on the XLR female connector, including a peak indicator. The fourth function is a phantom-power check, which tests the output voltage of the phantom power and ensures both pins are functioning properly. Lastly, the AT-1 sports headphone and speaker monitoring. When an audio source is connected to the XLR female or ¼” input, you can monitor the signal with headphones or speakers via the 3.5mm headphone output jack.
