Legendary film manufacturer HARMAN continues its color journey with the release of the Phoenix II 200 Color Negative Film, available in both 35mm and 120 Roll formats. The sequel to the company’s first foray into color film features an entirely new emulsion, boasting improvements to contrast, grain, color accuracy, highlight detail, shadow retention, exposure latitude, and lab scanning results. In short, a brand-new film stock that builds upon the results and feedback of the first generation, while looking forward to continued growth in the future.
Harman has also recently released two other new film formats of existing film stocks, a 120mm roll of the new Red 125 Redscale Color Negative Film and a 100’ bulk roll in 35mm of the classic Ilford-brand, high-speed Delta 3200 black & white negative film.
The first-generation Phoenix film was released in December 2023 and marked Harman technology’s debut in the color film space. The interest cultivated around the first-gen Phoenix film, coupled with extensive customer feedback, allowed Harman to invest in research and development while addressing some of the issues that plagued users the first go-around, including difficulty scanning.
Like its predecessor, the film has a native ISO 200 sensitivity that’s color balanced daylight and is developed under standard C41 processing. For an in-depth look at the Phoenix II 200 Color Negative Film, check out our hands-on review.
Launched back in February 2025 for 35mm cameras, the Red 125 film—the only redscale film produced by a major manufacturer—was so well-received that HARMAN has followed up with a medium format 120mm roll. Based on the first-generation Phoenix 200, the roll exposes the ed-sensitive layer first, creating images that predominate with red, orange, and yellow hues. Exposure variations have an outsized effect on the mood of the images, inviting photographers to transform everyday life into “dystopian” or even “apocalyptic” scenes.
Red 125 is developed under standard C41 processing, and HARMAN recommends shooting the redscale film stock from ISO 100 to 200 for best results.
HARMAN is also announcing the release of a bulk 100’ roll option in 35mm of their iconic high-speed black-and-white film, Ilford Delta 3200. Known for its gritty, grainy texture and wide latitude, the film’s high sensitivity has made it a go-to choice for low-light and nighttime scenarios as well as action photography requiring high shutter speeds. The 100’ roll will spool approximately 18 rolls of 36-exposure film.
